Thanks to witchmountain for the last thread and to dadx3 for Godfathering them! Also to any other posters whose ideas I have borrowed for the title.

Thanks ppeat. I've just been trying to make a link to this thread to post on the old one but don't seem able to on the app. Might just be me Blush

I've posted a link. New thread, new name!

Thanks, ppeatfruit. I wonder if we'll make Christmas with this thread.

Can I just add that we're not supposed to post spoilers on this thread. Once an episode has gone out, we can say what we like about that, and of course we can speculate about what might be about to happen, but not quoting the BBC's teasers or any other source with advance access to programmes/summaries. We've got a whole separate thread for that.

Thank you ppeatfruit, you've done a better job than I could have managed!

I agree with the pp on the last thread who thought Christine seemed manipulative last night. She was really playing up the frail little old lady routine to wheedle her way into another while at the Laurels at Peggy's expense. I didn't use to think of her like that(I don't suppose I thought of her much at all). I wonder when the rest of the family will find out what's been going on, they seem to be dragging it out.

Thanks ppeat and Bitter! I rather like the stars in the title.

I’m also now amusing myself with two images of you, ppeat - wearing enormous ear defenders like a road mender whilst you tend your mum (is she an Archers fan?), and puzzling over how to “activate the lettering” which is a wonderful phrase and will be how I refer to making links henceforth Halloween Grin

Not listened yet this week so nothing to say about the Archers.

Report
witchmountain · 14/11/2018 11:28

I don't think you can activate the lettering on the app without going into a browser to copy the url to paste. At least I can't see anything obvious.

Thanks, ppeat.

In my continuing pursuit of pointless information, here's how the posting broke down on the last thread (all posters with more than 1 post - Bittermints, thanks for your vital post of the link on the last thread, however I didn't count the subsequent space-filling posts you made).

The most prolific newcomer was TheEfficientBaxter (name change from an old timer, perhaps... Wink ).

Interesting stats, DD.

No, not an existing member with a new name! Total newcomer.

Didn't think I'd sent as many as that! I've obviously got far too much time on my hands Shock

Sorry, Bertrand, I can become very militant when cats are mistreated and/or misunderstood 🙀😸

Thankyou, ppeatfruit, for your welcome.

I suppose I am fairly new to TA, in comparison to some! I started listening regularly in 2013, and rapidly became gripped.

Been reading MN about the same length of time, but only joined in about three weeks ago! It's quite addictive, isn't it?

It's quite addictive, isn't it? I'm trying to wean myself off, but at times I find the thread more entertaining than the programme itself. Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the new thread.

I have a nasty feeling of foreboding about the Christine storyline. She has decided to linger a little longer at the Laurels (wow. didn't plan all that alliteration), and come back to live with 94 y.o. Peggy some time later this winter. Christine is assuming that Peggy will still be around and that Chris will have a home to come back to.Shock

Why wasn't JD at the birthday party?

Report
ppeatfruit · 14/11/2018 18:02

Yes R4 , but I suppose they could cope with a good daily carer, as long as they're both alive of course.

Tony wasn't there either, they're probably moonlighting.

moonwitch were you thumbwitch? Mum likes TA we listen to the film on Sunday (well I take off my ear protectors Grin ) and she sleeps through it.

I know that Christine has had a lot of shitty things happening to her over the years such as her house being torched by a Horrobin, being widowed and breaking her hip, however I find her as “wet as a can of piss” as the Aussies say.
