Tonight R4 6.30

Slowtrain2dawn Fri 02-Jun-17 08:20:35

Brilliant! Thank you! Loved the last series so much. Especially the train one, he's a very clever writer.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar Fri 02-Jun-17 08:26:31

Fab! He's so funny.

QueenieGoldstein Fri 02-Jun-17 08:27:19

Thanks for this, have added it to my favourites on the radio iPlayer

allegretto Fri 02-Jun-17 08:28:02

Great! Thanks for posting.

The one tonight is channelling aspects of my mother. Really quite spooky! grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Wed 07-Jun-17 18:59:33

I loved that. I liked last week's too, but this one just has the edge.

SeanSpicer Wed 07-Jun-17 19:02:34

Ooh thanks for the heads up, I hadn't realised it was back! smile

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Wed 07-Jun-17 19:04:01

SeanSpicer, I'm surprised you've got time what with your busy schedule at the White House! grin

SeanSpicer Wed 07-Jun-17 19:51:53

gringrin It's my happy place. When it all gets too much I hide in the cupboard and listen to R4 comedies. And chew gum.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Wed 07-Jun-17 20:05:13

grin grin

allegretto Wed 21-Jun-17 19:41:06

Anyone know what happened to last week's episode?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Thu 22-Jun-17 08:35:54

No, but I assume it was considered inappropriate because of the Grenfell Tower disaster. JF has said on Twitter it will be broadcast later on, but hasn't elaborated why.

Did enjoy last night's. Una Stubbs is so wonderful. I notice he put in a Sherlock Holmes reference again, as he did in Cabin Pressure after BC had become a megastar. grin

I'm afraid the new series isn't doing it for me. It isn't as good as the last one, IMO.

There seems to be a lot of gabbling at high speed. Is it an in-joke amongst the luvvies to see who can do the best JF impression? Or is the script paid per word?

SnickersWasAHorse Thu 22-Jun-17 12:40:43

Something has got in the way of me listening to these properly so far.

Orlantina Fri 30-Jun-17 09:21:07

Loved the last few.

Penguin Diplomacy was very funny.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Fri 30-Jun-17 09:36:59

Agreed. Might listen again to all of them while I can. I see from Twitter that there's one coming up with JF himself and Michael Palin!

allegretto Fri 30-Jun-17 09:55:23

Penguin Diplomacy was a bit difficult to follow for me - or maybe I was multitasking and not really paying attention!

BigGreenOlives Mon 03-Jul-17 04:13:02

I've just listened to the episode going to Winchester, I thought it was brilliant, so well observed. Like Gasp0de it reminded me of my mother (who was a Sue).

DoctorTwo Mon 03-Jul-17 06:56:56

Penguin Diplomacy was the funniest thing he's written in ages.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Wed 05-Jul-17 19:19:01

I'd say that about tonight's.

KingscoteStaff Wed 05-Jul-17 19:41:41

Loved this evening's. Particularly the 'third quartile of popularity'.
