Thanks for shiny new thread Pseudo. I've got really behind but listened to 3 weeks of omnibuses on long drives over the weekend so am all caught up.

Urgh - Pip is hopeless and useless and hateful. Also I'm not really understanding the point of the pony SL and the cooing over it ...

I think Alice might be even more annoying than Pip.

Actually I think you could be right Homity. And why did she give up her aerospace engineering career to work in a sales job for farm equipment? Confused

Marking!

Thanks, Pseudo!

Another mention of speeding. Who's for the chop?

Did Alice do aero engineering?

Report
TheAntiBoop · 07/05/2017 19:32

If so then yes, it's spectacularly crap!!

Minimammoth · 07/05/2017 19:42

Waving spectacularly to mark place.

Henry sounds even younger Hmm

Thank you once again Pseudo

Thought we'd heard the last of Henwee for a decade or so, but no such luck.

Yes she did! She's still listed on the Beeb's list of characters as 'aeronautical engineer' (sorry - didn't get the term right in my earlier post - not my area of knowledge Grin). You would have thought her parents would have had something to say about her jacking it in really

I thought she was still on the engineering side and working on the drone kit (hence the desire to flog it)? So still aeronautical but small fliers rather than large fliers - so a field which still requires knowledge of all the air regulations as well as the aero engineering specifics.

Am I just inventing this to fill a patchy memory?

Brian's idea sounds bonkers to me. More inheritance strife.

I bet Phoebe ends up with the lot.

Aren't the engineers busy doing the engineering? She seems to spend a lot nighttime on presentations and pitches

Episode of utter torture. Three most annoying voices in Ambridge (Alice, Pip and Henwee) in one hideous swooping wail.

I'd assume she is there for pre sales tech support to answer all the relevant questions whilst the sales team focus on the patter.

Because TASWAMA..

But she was going out and giving the presentations and answering questions etc and then getting upset because she couldn't deal with the farmers 'difficult' questions. Which I'm sure a sales person would have been able to deal with

Where they difficult technically or about the contract/financing side? I honestly can't remember - I do listen when Alice is on but sometimes I don't remember much of what she says. Blush

"were" not "where"!

Report
TheAntiBoop · 07/05/2017 22:41

I thought they were PR type questions - why should I buy this? What's wrong with the current system? Etc so not wanting an engineering answer about how much better her product was for all the fancy stuff but a proper sales pitch. She tried it out on Brian and he said it was too technical!

I thought it was a fairly small start up company? And in those you quite often get asked to do all kinds of random stuff which you wouldn't necessarily expect from the job title. Also most engineers I know are very used to giving presentations (and the best get headhunted by consultancies). And if the rest are geek types, Alice might be one of the best people they have to talk to people.

Given her story the other night it sounds like she is being sent out to lure customers in as she's a young woman. All sounded a bit grim tbh
