Enjoy!

JigglyTuff Sun 07-May-17 18:32:56

Thanks for shiny new thread Pseudo. I've got really behind but listened to 3 weeks of omnibuses on long drives over the weekend so am all caught up.

Urgh - Pip is hopeless and useless and hateful. Also I'm not really understanding the point of the pony SL and the cooing over it ...

HomityBabbityPie Sun 07-May-17 18:48:17

I think Alice might be even more annoying than Pip.

JigglyTuff Sun 07-May-17 19:04:29

Actually I think you could be right Homity. And why did she give up her aerospace engineering career to work in a sales job for farm equipment? confused

Gallavich Sun 07-May-17 19:10:26

Marking!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Sun 07-May-17 19:27:05

Thanks, Pseudo!

Another mention of speeding. Who's for the chop?

TheAntiBoop Sun 07-May-17 19:31:51

Did Alice do aero engineering?

TheAntiBoop Sun 07-May-17 19:32:12

If so then yes, it's spectacularly crap!!

Minimammoth Sun 07-May-17 19:42:29

Waving spectacularly to mark place.

Mootsie Sun 07-May-17 19:58:23

Henry sounds even younger hmm

BoreOfWhabylon Sun 07-May-17 20:05:45

Thank you once again Pseudo

Thought we'd heard the last of Henwee for a decade or so, but no such luck.

JigglyTuff Sun 07-May-17 20:44:02

Yes she did! She's still listed on the Beeb's list of characters as 'aeronautical engineer' (sorry - didn't get the term right in my earlier post - not my area of knowledge grin). You would have thought her parents would have had something to say about her jacking it in really

* You would have thought her parents would have had something to say about her jacking it in really*

I thought she was still on the engineering side and working on the drone kit (hence the desire to flog it)? So still aeronautical but small fliers rather than large fliers - so a field which still requires knowledge of all the air regulations as well as the aero engineering specifics.

Am I just inventing this to fill a patchy memory?

Imbroglio Sun 07-May-17 20:56:48

Brian's idea sounds bonkers to me. More inheritance strife.

I bet Phoebe ends up with the lot.

TheAntiBoop Sun 07-May-17 20:57:49

Aren't the engineers busy doing the engineering? She seems to spend a lot nighttime on presentations and pitches

Toomuchtea Sun 07-May-17 21:41:08

Episode of utter torture. Three most annoying voices in Ambridge (Alice, Pip and Henwee) in one hideous swooping wail.

C8H10N4O2 Sun 07-May-17 22:01:40

She seems to spend a lot nighttime on presentations and pitches

I'd assume she is there for pre sales tech support to answer all the relevant questions whilst the sales team focus on the patter.

BertrandRussell Sun 07-May-17 22:10:06

"And why did she give up her aerospace engineering career to work in a sales job for farm equipment?"

Because TASWAMA..

TheAntiBoop Sun 07-May-17 22:11:41

But she was going out and giving the presentations and answering questions etc and then getting upset because she couldn't deal with the farmers 'difficult' questions. Which I'm sure a sales person would have been able to deal with

C8H10N4O2 Sun 07-May-17 22:17:36

she couldn't deal with the farmers 'difficult' questions.

Where they difficult technically or about the contract/financing side? I honestly can't remember - I do listen when Alice is on but sometimes I don't remember much of what she says. blush

C8H10N4O2 Sun 07-May-17 22:18:01

"were" not "where"!

TheAntiBoop Sun 07-May-17 22:41:05

I thought they were PR type questions - why should I buy this? What's wrong with the current system? Etc so not wanting an engineering answer about how much better her product was for all the fancy stuff but a proper sales pitch. She tried it out on Brian and he said it was too technical!

mummytime Sun 07-May-17 22:49:10

I thought it was a fairly small start up company? And in those you quite often get asked to do all kinds of random stuff which you wouldn't necessarily expect from the job title. Also most engineers I know are very used to giving presentations (and the best get headhunted by consultancies). And if the rest are geek types, Alice might be one of the best people they have to talk to people.

TheAntiBoop Sun 07-May-17 22:52:18

Given her story the other night it sounds like she is being sent out to lure customers in as she's a young woman. All sounded a bit grim tbh
