Anyone else listening to this? I've heard the first two on catch up. Enjoyed them. I have the book (still) and always enjoyed leafing through it.

I only heard one episode but I really liked it 😄 didn't realise it was based on a book.

It's based on a cookery book of that name by Katherine Whitehorn. The story is original but uses the recipes from the book. Nice idea!

I think it's great !
Very clever.
I took that book to University with me in 1979.
My boyfriend ( at the time) and I made many versions of "The Dish".

I am enjoying the series. Sadly my copy of the book fell apart many, many years ago but it was a great help when I first left home. I particularly cherish the memory of a 'hot dog risotto' that I think came from there. It would make me barf now but in my house full of bedsits in Beckenham, in 1980, it was considered haute cuisine.

Thank you zen. I wouldn't class it as full comedy like the iPlayer has, but it's gentle drama really.

Still funnier than Clare in the Cimmunity though.

Yes! Clare in the Community has grown on me too. But not as much as Fags, Mags and Bags. The first few times I heard it I was outraged at the predictable stereotyping but now I love it. Every line is a joy and nothing makes me happier than a shop with a wall of crisps.

Well, I've just listened to the last episode. Nooooooooooooooooo! They can't leave it like that! I want to know what happens next. I hope this means they are setting things up for a second series.

Are you saying it ended at episode 4? I heard that one and when there was nothing else I assumed it was a seasonal break. They cannot leave is hanging like that.

Yes, on i player it says episode 4 of 4. There must be another series. That wasn't an ending!
