Sack the Sock - put a sock in it or pull your socks up - frankly we're a bit sick of it. The Archers is shit, discuss it here.

I have it on good authority that this is the thread that people enjoy more than the programme it's about Grin

I'm posting this second post as the first one looks so lonely. There, now it has a sibling to fight with love and play with.

I agree completely & the posters don't keep changing personality - if DadDadDad suddenly starts writing poetry I'll know SOC has hacked him

I was considering a namechange to TheNewPseudoBadgerWho'sBeenToDramaSchoolDon'tYouKnow

I liked Araminta's "should old characters be forgot, and forever act in mime" but she was too late to the party. Thanks for the new thread pseudo.

And I'm going to change to R4DA (RADA, geddit?).Grin

Jolly good.

We're probably going to need lots of Wineto get through the next few character changes months.

Marking me place ... thanks to Pseudo for the new thread. Hmm just realised I need to NC again as well. Maybe it should be WaltzingWithTigers, coz I miss him too Bore.

Hmm. I don't think it's shit. I just think it's going through a stage of change. It often does. I'm put off posting here by all the negativty tbh Sad

I don't think it's shit either - am quite enjoying it, although picking out plot-holes and inconsistencies and general piss-taking has always been my way of enjoying TA Grin.

Don't like all the new people for no good reason though and vanishing of established characters, eg Tiger.

enochroot · 06/01/2015 11:29

We shouldn't be completely negative. There's a lot I like about it and find intriguing though I am having extreme difficulty identifying characters at the moment.

Don't be like that BooP, all posters welcome here. I'd love to hear some positivity but I can't see much to be positive about atm. For example, how is ripping the heart out of the programme relocating the Brookfield clan a good thing?

Eastpoint's right,
I could be more poetic,
As these days,
I don't try to be prophetic.

I'll go for now,
But I'm not going to hide.
I'll return with stats
So you can decide:

Have I been processed
In a SOC factory,
Or am I still
This thread's only actuary?

Report
ZeroFunDame · 06/01/2015 11:33

No, No! It's all good BitOut - don't be put off. I do remember you mentioned the negativity before so I will try to include some positive observations as often as possible. Promise!

For example, last thread - first someone said how like Tamsin Greig (Debbie) New Kate sounds. And then I think Pseudo said how like Alice she sounds. So although Kate is awful the casting was obviously completely spot on. Flawless. Superb.

And the Rob Helen stuff is brilliant.

And I'm full of anticipation for Mungo's future.

Don't give up on the thread. We deserve a well written and produced programme - we have to keep reminding them of that.

So tiiiired of all the DRAH MAH

I wish they'd do a spinoff where Nothing Really Happens-eg Jennifer's kitchen, David eating sandwich, that sort of thing. I would listen AVIDLY

Or better still a regular Lillian/Matt two hander. Say every Monday

DadDadDad I apologise, you are clearly a polymath rather than 'just' an actuary (sister to an actuary, married to a physics graduate).

I very much like the new title.

Or better still a regular Lillian/Matt two hander.

They could have a 5 minute programme every week were L&M get tanked up on booze and comment on the events of the week à la Gogglebox.

Oh my God. Wouldn't Matt be the perfect person to take over Tom Forrest's role (it was Tom wasn't it?) as the Sunday morning monologue deliverer? It has been sorely missed in my household.

That's my February Feedback question sorted!

I would love that nauticant!

I just feel a bit lost BOOP. And it makes me very sad because I've been a dedicated listener for 30 years and last week's film made me feel like I was listening to Ambridge Extra which I never really understood either.

I want the Brookfield nonsense to be resolved and for there to be a few more happy/dull storylines. It's exhausting at the moment

Poor Ruth, getting all sad over the calves :(

I am enjoying that Carol is a rare use of an older person to shake things up a bit. Usually TA would send in a frightfully determined and serious minded young person (like Charlie or Harrison) to do that, but Carol is much more fun. There are a lot of people who need a confidante in the Archers and sadly Peggy and Jill have too many problems (and ailments) of their own these days.
