It's bloody amazing! I implore you all to listen so I've got somebody to talk to about it! I'm on episode 7 Grin

I've just finished episode 1. Wow, I'm hooked Grin. I'm torn whether to keep listening now, or to save it for next week when I'll be decorating with DP- I won't mind re-listening to that first bit, and then we can get into it together.

But...but...I really want to hear some more NOW Grin.

It just gets better BOF. Totally messed with your mind. I still don't know who to believe seven episodes in. And the lady is a wonderful narrator.

Ooh just came looking for a thread on this. I've just finished the second episode and am itching to listen to the third but can't because I can't work and listen at the same time.

It's beautifully done

Episode 10 out today, interesting about the defence attorney.

FWIW whether he did it or not i don't get the impression there was enough evidence against him to justify the sentence they gave him.

Love it, love it, love it.....am totally hooked.

This is how investigative reporting should be.

I am interested to see how they have access to the original police interviews, and all the evidence at the trial(s). Means it is very thorough.

I am up to episode 9 and I am all over the place as to who and what I believe.

I just came on to recommend this and you're already here! I'm on Ep 8. Loved the randomness of Ep 3 - Mr S. Just shows if that was in a drama you'd think what on earth? Life is much stranger.

Apart from the odd Radio 4 programme, where I usually use listen again so not really podcast territory, this is the first podcast I've stumbled across. I feel like I've found a treasure. How do you all usually find stuff of this quality? It was a completely chance look at the newspaper that brought me to Serial. I know I'm going to need something else when this finishes.

Going to read Rabia's blog now.

Narrator said something when I was listening today about how she hoped she didn't get to the end and still think she was no closer to knowing. I'll still have enjoyed it if that's the case (I think), but would like to have reached some idea. But then again, it's not a drama. I like the feeling of sharing the 'real' journey with the narrator.

Other comment I liked was the woman from the Innocence Project when they were talking about the oddness of flip flopping from one view to another, how bewildering it is - and she said something about just listening to every bit of evidence with a cocked eyebrow.

'How do you all usually find stuff of this quality?'

I saw Serial recommended in the paper as well, possibly times along with a couple of other podcasts, and i think you can tell in itunes? which podcasts are the most popular so potentially worth a listen.

I did listen to an episode of This American Life (makers of Serial) it was ok but i probably wouldn't listen to another.

Thanks EssexMummy, so do you normally need to pay if from iTunes?

Just realised I originally saw it on the Guardian's website, where there are some other bits and pieces about it

Podcasts are almost always free, but several of them do ask for donations.

Serial is free.

Have been listening to this over the past three days - I'm hooked! I listen to quite a few different podcasts, but usually as I'm falling asleep. I listened to the first episode of this three times before I managed to catch the ending, so had to binge listen the whole lot today (whilst managing to tune out cbeebies!). Looking forward to the next instalment.

My other favourite podcasts are (outside of the BBC stuff like More or Less):

Radiolab - www.radiolab.org/archive/ 'science, philosophy, and human experience'. Lots of favourites - can't remember one off the top of my head.

NPR Planet Money - interesting stuff with an economic slant. The one on pallets is unexpectedly interesting:
www.npr.org/blogs/money/2014/06/11/320642426/episode-454-the-blue-pallet

TED radio hour - similar to the above.

Off to read Rabia's blog...

Yep - normally fall asleep within 5 minutes. I listened to the whole of 'The History of the World in 100 objects' at bedtime, then went to the British Museum and couldn't remember anything about any of it!

I have the "one book a month" thing on audible because it takes me that long to listen to one all the way through! Reading is fine, I just fall asleep as soon as I start listening

Does anyone know how many more episodes there will be? I see there's an episode 11 to come
