I haven't seen a thread about this yet, or even any discussion online anywhere. Who else is listening?

AND WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THOSE BOYS?

And is it just me, or is it stuffed with anachronisms and weirdly modern-sounding accents?

Eh? Stupid phone!

I dread to think where they have gone, hoping nothing too horrid has happened :)

I think it takes time for characters to bed down in long series so that's maybe why?

Now kitty (?) is about to get wed to the victor chap he'll turn up again I'll bet Wink

I'm really enjoying Home Front! It feels a bit superficial in some ways but nevertheless I'm enjoying it. Really like the Isabel Graham and Ralph Winwood storyline.

Just think a whole four years to go, such a long time to really develop storylines Grin

I hate the fact they have eaten into Y+Y which is a consumer programme for us listeners... They should have cut the 15 minutes from WatO or replaced the 15 minute show after it, IMO. I'm looking forward to the end of this series (and "The Listening Project", another "intrusion" into the schedule), however long I have to wait (it has meant I now listen far less to R4 and whereas I used to record 18 hours a day, I've not bothered to set things up to do this any more, and with FiveLive being swamped by sport I don't record that, and have switched to different genres of music from SoMaFM.com instead, so pump out electronica, trance, etc, 8+ hours a day and the BBC is last on my 'regular listening' list now - quite an accomplishment to drop from top to bottom in the space of 30 months).

I'm loving it, though I'm not really warming to many of the characters -

The Rev and Isobel cheating on poor Mrs Rev

Mrs Rev nicking Mathieu-Matthew from the maid

The wife-beating husband

Pompous Sylvia Graham who thinks things are fine as they are with the Natural Order being men ruling the world and no need for Mrs Pankhurst

Poor dead Freddie, and worse, Nelson his horse Sad

Glad to find some other listeners, I thought I was the only one!

Oh network guy you sound so grumpy and miserable, the listening project is fabulous! I do agree it's a shame it eats into You and Yours though, which is an excellent programme.

They eat into it at both ends now. Yes, I'm probably just a grumpy old man, but that's because they snatch bits from good shows and don't use the time efficiently.

For example, while I can understand there being repeats of the 0945 and 1045 stories later in the day, the fact they have been devoting time for an omnibus edition as well and it means they could have just had that longer show and not the snips into other programming ...

(though I now understand that instead of Listening Project, the omnibus shows are about Germany... Oh well, perhaps my disinterest in history is the main reason behind my grumpiness... don't get me wrong, I enjoy learning the history of some subjects/ objects but not so much the imposition of it in the form of weeks and weeks of radio shows).

Just realised series 2 has just started. 12.04 every weekday. Omnibus on Friday evenings.

Enjoy it. It has its wooden moments but always worth a listen. And HATE the whingefest full of first world problems that is Y & Y!
