Like they hadn't counted the cows recently? and have no idea how much they will sell for? Despite the fact that Tom has "done all the calculations and made a good case for selling them" ....

I'm rather enjoying Toms downfall too,and its nice to know that Pat, Helen and the wonder baby are going to have a nice day out when the cows are sold.Rather surprised though that the wondrous Henry is now old enough to have a conversation.

It's all ridiculous.

this

Pat, Helen and the wonder baby are going to have a nice day out when the cows are sold

this Pat and Helen have very little to do with the herd. They are going to leave the gut-wrenching disposal to Tony and Tom - the ones who actually do the milking and have a day-to-day relationship with every single cow.

the wondrous Henry is now old enough to have a conversation

this He's only 28 months old.

Does anyone else hope they'll have several TB reactors?
most definitely this!

I was a bit worried about last night's episode. After deliberating about whether to tell the relief milkers that they are selling up, they said that they MUST tell Clarrie and Susan, or they will suspect something when Alistair comes to give the cows their vet check.

Are they really going to tell Clarrie and Susan that they are selling the cows, before they gone through the proper formalities and have told Trevor and PEEP that they will have no job? Why would they know Alistair was there at all if they are in the dairy?

Henry is going to be a boy wonder, sheesh, how could you not know that Helen's offspring would be any different?

But they aren't talking about the business case of what it will cost them to buy in organic milk for their dairy produce, and the admin overheads in checking that the milk is properly organic. Won't some of the £200k have to be set aside for those extra costs?

Surely they must have had a good idea of the cow's value for insurance purposes and in the course of keeping their accounts.

I was amused by Pat the lentil weaver's reaction to £200,000 landing in her lap, clearly delighted, but too sanctamonious to actually delight in becoming newly cash-rich. John was the only one out of that family I had any time for and he goes and gets himself crushed by a tractor.

Woman of the people Pat seems to have forgotten about poor silent Trevor getting the boot as a result of the cow-sale!

I lol'd when she said "keep it quiet" to Clarrie and Radio Ambridge. Especially when the next scene cut to Neil answering his phone ...
