The sooner he goes back to prison and Elona gets evicted the better.
They are literally unbelievable as a couple.
And oh, what jolly bad luck - just as he gets a dodgy offer she gets her hours cut....

She is so incredibly wooden it's unbelievable. But he's the only cast member with a Black Country accent so I have a soft spot for him.

Lillian and her bit of fluff have gone quiet haven't they?

Same story over and over isn't it.

How funny was was the comedy cockney, up to no good Grin

I was half expecting Elona to have yet another bizarre expensive thing she was going to harass Darrel for (scooter, piano, washing machine) - we had bets on in this house!

The Comedy Cockney Criminal sounded just like Matt! Exactly the same "yeah, yeah" and moves on to ignore what the other person is saying if they don't agree with him. Not much imagination shown there SWs.

I agree that they are unbelievable as a couple. She is all care and concern for her charges - stocking up their sweetie cupboards etc - but when it comes to Darrell she turns into a gold-digger. I don't think that I have heard a conversation between them where she is not on his back for more money. And yet this is the woman who stood by her man when he was in jail? It doesn't stack up.Confused

I've been driven to end my posting drought by last night's episode. For what I think is the first time ever I turned TA off before the closing themetune. What a clunking storyline this is. Darrell really is too stupid to be let out on his own - and oh look, just as the bad ex-con mate is conning him into doing something glaringly illegal (to people who have trusted him and given him work) here comes the miserable Ilona, whinging about money again. I wonder what he'll do? The scriptwriters have presented him as a 'decent bloke' yet he is like putty in the hands of the pantomine baddy 'mate' and has less ability than your average 8-year-old to know right from wrong!!! Confused

He really needs to grow a pair, doesn't he? So pathetic and predictable.

Just finish off Chris, for the love of God! Spare us from these tortuous side-stories!

I don't get why he would even be considering the gambling den thing in anycase, it sounded like all he'd get out of it would be a pint?

Has cockney geezer said that it's gambling, or could it be something more unsavoury like dog fighting that would leave a very nasty association with Home Farm?

RocknRollNerd · 16/03/2013 12:26

oooh, hadn't thought of that, I'd just assumed it was a poker den but I reckon you're onto something with the dog fighting Shock

Definitely dog fighting or something similar I reckon. Agree, the whole story line is sleep inducing.

Yes they wouldn't want or need a barn to play poker in would they? Definitely dog fighting I reckon. It is so unbelievable that Darrel would even be tempted - seriously nasty stuff. But the ramifications for Brine and Jennydarling could be very entertaining interesting.

Matt doesn't want him though TBH if you're a good workman\decorator then word of mouth is all that's needed to be always in work, it is round here anyway (we live in deepest rural Fr.). The good reliable workers have waiting lists ffs.

What was he in prison for before?

Report
ppeatfruit · 22/03/2013 15:44

For receiving stolen goods; Elona said something like "he didn't know that they were stolen" So prison hasn't changed his I.Q. them Hmm

minkembra · 24/03/2013 00:19

And he was really up tight about Matt trying to get him into anything suss but he would get involved in this.

But yy to way Elona talks to him it is a cross between patronisinceng cow and whining child. but a jazzer says she has that whole dark hair thing going on.

More jazzer and Jim please less whiney and dopey. (bit too like ed and emmer apart from anything else)

Elona is patronising but in her defence he clearly fucked up big time once before, she stood by him whilst he was in prison and he's well on his way to fucking up again by the sounds of it.

Lucky Elona she's got 3 kids. Hmm Actually the eldest sounds more responsible than her Dad who says to her 'i don't want you to worry" why would you give in and buy expensive stuff for yr kids when they're quite able to understand "we can't afford it"?

Though they've gone quiet while Tom and Brenda break up and Lilian is going to get her just desserts Grin
