Lillian triangle - can anyone fill in the gaps for me

I dip in and out so am a little confused... Couple a weeks ago I heard Lill n Paul having a final goodbye telephone call. About a week later I heard them on the phone again and Paul seemed to be pressurising Lillian to meet him...she was free on Tuesday but said she would meet him on Friday. Just heard tonight's and everyone was saying Tiger and Puss have never looked so well/happy etc which means that something awful is going to happen...what have I missed? I though Lill n Paul had split?

Paul rang her and begged to meet. Unfortunately she agreed. I think she's going to end up with no man at all. And maybe no money either if this project goes ahead......

Paul's turning into a creepy stalker! This is all going to end in tears, you mark my words.

It's another of the never-ending SLs they seem so fond of at the moment - like Matt and the comedy pensioners with the utterly ludicrous taking-up-the-floorboards malarkey. Goes on and on and on and on until you are trapped in Groundhog Day lunacy.

Yes, Lil said goodbye to Paul but it's all started up again. Over on the R4 Archers messageboard the smart money is on Paul somehow getting involved with the work on this new mill project, with predictably hilarious consequences.

Not sure I have the patience to sit this one out...

Agree. Definitely stalker material.

she told him about it on Friday, didn't she...I don't know if he knew about it before. maybe he'll snatch it from under Matt's nose. with equally hilarious consequences

TA is getting sillier & sillier. I often don't listen now & don't care Sad

It could all be a script writer war.

I heard an interview with one from years and years ago. He really liked Shula, one of the others hated her. The other SW once got Shula in a car heading for the airport at the end of his scripts, then the SW interviewed invented a reason for her to head back to Ambridge.

Maybe someone likes Paul?

Interesting Mummytime!

I don't understand why we have to hear every bloody sick making conversation that they have. Why is he always ringing her?

Why is he always ringing her?

And why, when he does ring/text, is there always somebody else in the room who starts quizzing "who is that? aren't you going to answer it?"
Or is it me that is wrong - should I be monitoring my relatives' every phone call?Confused

Is it just me, or do the voices of Lillian & Matt sound unbelievably similar to Julie Walters & Bradley Walsh?! Of course, I know it isn't, but.....still! Shock

I'm getting so bored of this story line, I have to say. Lillian's wimperiness, Matt's personality transplant, and yes, R4, what the hell is it with the interrogations? Now they've decided that Paul is basically going to be a bit on the side, they're going to have to have some rules (don't they know how this works ffs?). He can't keep ringing her, it's ridiculous.

Campari (can't help thinking L&M would approve of your name!) I'd love to know what Matt's actor's voice is really like - hate that gravelly cocknee-sparra voice! And I HATE "pushcat" Angry. I don't want Lillian to be the bad guy in this - she was thrown into Paul's arms by Matt's twattishness and for him to completely change personality overnight takes the piss.

Why does this matter so much? HmmGrin

mumytime is right about the scriptwriters - it's like that game they play in 'I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue' where everyone is desperate not to be the one who finishes the story and it keeps going round and round.

Paul used to be almost interesting. Now he has the personality of a soggy lettuce.
And Lillian needs a tiger.

Ouch! Great comments! It was a poor episode. Paul is a pathetic simpering prawn (lifted from the blog comments...)

Thanks songbird for the article, the comments are great; Nancy Banks Smith's article in yesterday's Grauniad was very funny (sorry I'm not good with links)

I DO have to DUH myself though calling the Trevor Howard\Celia Johnson film Close Encounter Blush but it was quite apt for the alien meeting in TA Grin.

'Watch out for a new Clarrie on Sunday. Or, strictly speaking, an old Clarrie as this Clarrie was also the first Clarrie. Spooky or what?'

I knew I recognised the name - Heather something, she was mentioned in a linky thing t'other day. I didn't realise it was Clarrie Mk I! (but of course it couldn't be Mk II because she died in RL, didn't she?)

I didn't know that Clarrie mk 2 had died Sad I wonder why Clarrie Mk 1 left in the first place?

Report
Ponders · 09/02/2013 13:17

she was sacked apparently - she insisted on going to the funeral of the actor who previously played Joe Grundy when it clashed with a recording.

you'd think they could have rescheduled the recording Hmm

Clarrie II committed suicide Sad

Blimey Shock Sad that says a LOT about the disgraceful management of TA. The Beeb really do need an overhaul don't they?

well, that was more than 25 years ago. I suspect their policies will be more user-friendly these days

Actress who has just left was Clarrie III and left to spend time with her family. It was Clarrie II (Fiona Mathieson) who commited suicide.
