Sorry to sound a bit lacking in intellectual rigour Grin but IMO there's enough bleedin' politics on the radio (esp. on R4).

Leave T.A. out of it we DO it's not real!!! I like a bit of relaxation and escapism in my soaps Grin I don't watch any on T.V. now they're just too effin' miserable. PLEASE don't add politics to my fave radio soap it's getting bad enough anyway Grin

I agree that most politics should be kept out of The Archers, but as it claims to reflect real rural life, I do think it's a bit silly to imply (by ommission) that Ed'n'Emmur rely on only their meagre wages. To think that neither a Grundy or a Horrobin would know exactly what benefits they were entitled to and have a bit of a moan when the government announced benefit cuts is bizarre!

I s'pose that the S.Ws would think that once they start mentioning benefits etc. where would it stop? We don't know the name of their local M.P. either (though thinking about it that could be fun Grin)

I was shocked when Rhys orders a Polish lager at Jaxx.I thought you HAD to drink a pint of shires or die

I think if you don't have shires you are allowed to have a generic "lager". I have never heard anybody be more specific. (Am just catching up with the omnibus and LOL at Tom serenading Brenda and scattering love hearts - wtf?)

It's so we know they're in Jaxx and not The Bull - soooo cosmopolitan!

I think the problem with politics is that it is too topical. They have enough trouble keeping up with the weather. Remember in the spring when it never stopped raining? It (i.e. the farmer's favourite topic) never got a mention for months until the SW finally caught up, by which time RL had dried up. It was farcical.Grin

Anyone else disappointed by Ed's 'crisis'? And I HATE kissing noises on TA - yucky yuck!

Don't you think that we are way overdue a flood storyline? The Am must be the only river in country that hasn't burst its banks in the last few years.
A flood storyline would be ideal for TA: a dramatic occurance, then months of stringing out the follow-on. Just their sort of thing!

Ha! They must have read my post.
David dropped in a comment about the rain tonight. Grin
