There you go, typical Archer mechanical behaviour, pooing in the dairy and ruining everyone's lives.

I only heard a bit of the omnibus - is it definitely Clarrie's fault? And, if so, how? She was ill Thurs and Fri, felt better Saturday and went back to work Monday, surely that gave her 48 hrs clearance required?

(The most sick-making moment was Helen wittering on about the risk to Henry who hasn't even been weaned yet, let alone gorging on organic ice-cream Hmm.)

BlooCowWonders · 25/07/2011 13:42

But eddie reminded her she'd still been unwell on the Sunday.
So it is all her fault!

I was really struck by how similar Pat and Helen are. I thought Pat was a complete bitch and totally unprofessional to Clarrie. I guess this highlights the dangers of working for your friends. As they won't be friends any more will they?

Report
lalalonglegs · 25/07/2011 14:16

But Clarrie isn't really a friend - it's not as if she and Pat socialise together at all. I like to think of it as the sort of "partnership" that country types have with a particular horse, say, which they ride into the ground, have put down and then say how fond they were of it Grin.

It's hard to gauge how serious this latest crisis is as Pat, Helen, Tom and Tony always manage to make every single thing that happens in their lives sound as if it is a massive inconvenience that someone is deliberately trying to bait them with.

Clarrie must have picked up the bug from somewhere in Ambridge, will there be any investigation into the original cause, the Bull maybe ?.

mrszimmerman · 25/07/2011 23:15

haven't they implied it could have come from eddie not cooking some sausages properly?

The timing isn't right for it to have been the sausages. I'm an EHO, and people always blame the last thing they ate before they got ill, or the most memorable recent meal.

EggyAllenPoe · 25/07/2011 23:25

the incubation period was 3-5 days..so not sausages.

bit of a 'light relief' story line really. i like it.

bing on the agricultural sotryline editor with som mor goodness...

So do we know where she might have got the EColi from? Could it be The Bull?

Report
mrsgordonfreeman · 26/07/2011 15:39

I knew this would happen from the moment she commented that she'd had the squits and blamed the sausages.

It's obvious really that the mucky working classes would contaminate the lovely ice cream that the posh people ate.

I wonder if they will trace it full circle, discovering that Clarrie caught the bug at the dairy to start with !Grin

Hopefully it will be have been one of the Tom's Bridge Farm sausages, evil, whingebag, smug, pompous little git.
So obviously his sister's brother and parents' child !!!!!!

Just another case of band wagon jumping. When is Brian going to open a 10,000 head dairy farm or maybe Will goes off his head with a gun.

I wonder if this new secret supplier of crayfish is going to be the source, maybe Carrie ate something from them ?

Report
SenoritaViva · 01/08/2011 18:08

I was hoping they'd find the source was from Susan. She's so bloody smug about it not being her and she's such a busy body...

That said, she's nothing compared to Helen in the smug category.... when oh when is she going to get her come uppance?

Report
heronsfly · 01/08/2011 19:44

I think Tom could do with a spot of come uppance too !

GrendelsMum · 10/08/2011 18:40

You know, I think this is a really good storyline, plenty of tension all round. I really feel for everyone involved, especially Pat trying to cope with her feelings of guilt and Tom and Helen nagging at her, and trying to be fair to Clarrie too. And Clarrie is great.

And I'm secretly quite taken by the appalling James and Leonie...

Report
OhdearNigel · 11/08/2011 12:58

That episode with James and Leonie was hilarious !

Report
Bumperlicious · 20/08/2011 13:57

I really hope they find it has come from Tom! I'm sure it was the case that the ecoli stayed for longer than a usual bug so even if she had followed the 48hr rule it might still have spread.

Report
jodevizes · 21/08/2011 18:50

Oh yes, please let it be from Tom but I guess if there hasn't been any other outbreak, apart from the ice cream,we will never know.

Love Pip coming round and telling Brenda about how to market Bridge Farm. It'll be hilarious if she actually turns out to be good at this marketing lark.

Well I was also half thinking (Must get out more) where tf is BRENDA?

Isn't she a Marketing PR Goddess?
Why isn't she helping them deal with their crisis comms and advising them to avoid BBC Radio Borsetshire at all costs unless it's a live interview FGS?!
