So what's the story then? Did Jennifer actually write this? confused

Gosh, no! Given her level of embarrassment, I'd say definitely not. My guess is that Mandy Beesborough had a ghost writer to help her novelise her affair with Brian.

I had thought that Mandy Beesborough wrote it, but Jennifer is supposed to be a writer, so perhaps it was her and a double bluff?

Aha - I was about to start a 'who is Carinthia Hart' thread... grin

I'm wondering if it might be Lynda... they're making a huge thing about them being in the village for 25 years so if the affair was in 2007 then that would about stack up in terms of her being around. She loves writing the panto doesn't she so perhaps she wrote a novel too?

Northernlurker Sat 25-Jun-11 10:46:10

There's no way Lynda wrote a novel and didn't mention it!

Lilymaid Sat 25-Jun-11 10:58:41

The affair with Mandy was 1987-88, so the Lynda suggestion could be possible (too much time on her hands sitting at reception at Grey Gables?)

Caroline Bone????!!! IMO Lynda is too prim and proper.

Lilymaid Sat 25-Jun-11 11:08:12

I thought Caroline was rushed off her feet ... but it would be sweet revenge on the Aldridges!

Northernlurker Sat 25-Jun-11 11:14:35

She isn't vengeful and more embarassed about the affair I think than anything else.

I thought it was Jennifer, hence the character 'Byron', that Susan called Bryan before hastily correcting herself. But Bryan was rude about the book too, so if it is her she's managed to keep her writing pretty quiet.

Acekicker Sat 25-Jun-11 12:37:53

By 2007 and I mean 1987 of course...

I have never heard the name Carinthia before. Apparently, it is a state of Austria, bordering Slovenia. Do you think that Brine had a dalliance with one of the crop-pickers, who discovered that she wasn't the first, and wrote up the Beesborough story in revenge.
Will Caroline be the sequel?

It must be Jennifer, surely?

Or possibly Jim?

Or - and here's a fab thought, Joe????

One thing I do know, I'm loving this storyline, and can't wait for the fete!

Do we know the outcome yet, I've been on holiday and dying to know? Rather suspect it could be Lynda?
