I was confused by that, assumed she was here for a year. Hope to see back of her though, horrible, self-righteous character with dreadful syrupy voice - lecturing her mother for daring to consider buying one of her grandchildren a toy. I do struggle to find anyone I like in the Archers .

I hope so. I want to throttle her - she is by far the most annoying character in it. She has no redeeming features whatsoever. At least most of their other 'baddies' are amusing, she's just painful

Ooh I hope so too, I was contemplating posting a thread on it too. And what on earth is Rory's voice??? (yes I know that's not how you spell it) He sounded like Matt Robot from the Sooty show. Poor lamb though. Gosh it was good when Brine was having that affair with Siobhan, almost as good as Jolene in the shower.

I know, they mentioned that Rory (Ruaridh?) was 7 or 8 now and I thought, "Gosh, that's a long time to go without a single decent storyline." His voice is really quite extraordinary - apparently, children under a certain age aren't allowed to record it with the other actors so the producer has to go to their homes, read them their lines and get them to say them back but, really, you think they could have chosen someone a little more human lively than whoever they have got at the moment to do Ruaridh. Brian speaking in a falsetto would be an improvement.

She's no better than she ought to be that Kate Aldrich, always was a bad'un. She was so horrible to poor Ruaridh (with the ghastly voice). Mind you Jennifer is babying him, my ds is 8 loves Lazerquest and wouldn't thank you for the story tape she was going to play him - bring on horrid Henry.

Don't really listen to the Archers anymore, but did catch some this lunchtime and wondered who the robot was. Is that his normal voice or is there meant to be something wrong with him????

I thought Kate was coming back and really going to shake the place up. She's just been narky with her mother. Dull.

Kate is rotten and boring. I fear we may be in for more of her. I think she will split from her dh (loads of hinting that all is not well there) and babynap her other kids away from SA to Ambridge, sparking an international custody battle. They will all descend on Brian and Jenny, who will be outraged yet loving, and will somehow manage to feed and clothe them all without any money worries whatsoever.

Listening to the omnibus on Sunday I wondered why on earth they hadnt just got Judy Bennett (Shula Archer Hebden-Lloyd ) to do Ruaris voice. She once was all over kids TV/radio as a boys voice.Im sure she could run to an Irish/Borsetshire amalgam for a few lines a month.

little it was so wooded wasn't it! Even the DCs noticed and asked "why does that boy sound like a robot?" and they usually don't even pay the slightest bit of attention to the Archers.

I have always enjoyed Kate as a character as she is just so unlikeble, and can't recall any sympathetic story lines about her, so i do hope she returns with her other 2 children, no doubt with implausible accents , just like uncle ruuury
