Out n about or Maclaren?

What are people's opinions - should I get an out n about 360 single or a Maclaren ? If Maclaren which one?

I do lots of walking as we have a dog that needs a lot of walking and I also try not to use the car too much for local things.

Opinions gratefully received.

Anything but a Maclaren

did you guess i am not a fan

I prefer a pram that means baby can face you and i don't 'do' car seats outside of the car.

Best bet, chat to parents with prams you like the look of and see if they will let you 'test drive' them up and down a curb, turn in a circle, put brake on and off, use with one hand, move seat up and down.

Also do take into account basket size and folded size / ease of folding up and down.

If you are going anywhere off road go for the Out & About as the Maclaren is only really best for pavements etc. Also the Baskets on the Maclaren's are not great for getting shoppping in.

Maybe you guessed i'm not impressed?! Sold my lovely Jane (as was too heavy) for cheapest Maclaren model and it is awful, seat in an odd half-reclining position, wheels never lock and too light/unstable to push round for hours on dog walks. Apart from that, it's great!

Gosh if you are walking then definitely the nipper.

Maclarens have very small wheels for anything other than urbane shopping malls.

Nippers vg

But if you did get a mac later on, the techno is the only really useful and versatile one. Quest not bad, triumph rubbish

Seriously get the 360.

Ah yes, should have added I have the triumph!

I am using a Quest which I really like but heard great things about the nipper 360. If i had my time again I possibly should have opted for the Nipper as i do a lot of walking..

There pretty different so guess it is down to choice but both really good options.

Price wise may want to look at pushchairs online ran by an independent (which i like)but usually good on price.

Out n about Nipper 360

Mac Quest SPort

Prices do change a lot and i've not had a proper look but seem decent. I bought from their and have sent a few freinds across.

well i actually have both!!!

am a self confessed pramaholic but feel i have 'ended' on these too. i have the nipper for park and muddy days, football, farm trips etc, and black xt for town use. i love them both they both have their plus points.

i sold my first nipper a few months back as DS3 at 22m hated the 'laid back' seat but i missed it so much. it is seriously the lightest thing ever so easy to push and get in/out car etc its bloody fab. So i've now bought another and both DS2 ad 3 use it!! its great.

But im huge, huge, huge maclaren fan and love my xt as well.

Yes - if you can only get one - the 360 but if you can - get the Mac XT also - because they are both great and I have found you need an umbrella fold smaller one for shopping and public transport or lifts with you mates PLUS an off-roader for muddy walks, the beach, park etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions but think I may only get away with one as we already have a 3 wheeler XTS twister but it is heavy to lift in the car. But I love pushing it - so yes I think the out n about probably is the best idea, just need to justify it to DH now!!
