Travel pushchair

Looking for recommendations for a travel pushchair please.

Ideally would have a decent (almost flat) recline, be lightweight and have a teeny tiny fold.

I've been looking at the yoyo but what else should I consider? Any good or bad things about the yoyo I should know?

I've also seen the Hauck available at Aldi or Lidl is £30 and seems to fold the same as the recaro so not sure if this could be a contender

Yes the Aldi Hauck buggy is great. Goes completely flat and folds up pretty small. Has done us multiple holidays now.

Does it come with a carrier for the plane so it doesn't get damaged in the hold?

We have the Yoyo and it's great. Initially bought it to take on holiday, now use it as our regular pushchair. Fold is super small and it's light - we always put it in the cabin on flights, and it's great being able to put LO straight in the pushchair when we land. LO seems comfy in it, although I would prefer the seat was a bit more bucketed to encourage sleeping. It has a basket, which is small but fits our nappy bag (if we squash it a bit). We got it when LO was 7months old for our first holiday, and still using it at 2 1/2.

Given that the yoyo is a few hundred quid and the hauck is less than 30, I'd go with the hauck and see if you can get on with it. Not much lost if you don't. The yoyo is a massive expense for a holiday buggy.

recaro is fantastic it's really light and folds really small.

So the recaro and hauck seem similar to me - both in features and fold. So if it were to be one of those it may as well be the hauck I think. The yoyo folds small enough to go on board the flight in the cabin, which has lots of benefits for short flight connections. It also has a very good resale value so in theory I could sell on and it wouldn't cost more than the hauck. Any more insight?

@bluepeaches do you have a photo of the yoyo at maximum recline?

The other downside of the hauck is that the hood is small - not sure if the yoyo is better?

Doesn't recline flat, but plenty deep enough.

There is a lot of variance in terms of price that I can see in the thread, how much worse (if at all) are the cheaper options?

Honestly, not a lot. I was really sceptical about our hauck, that cost me £23. Our usual buggy is an Icandy Peach, so it's not as smooth as that. However, we've pushed it round plenty of holiday destinations and it's been fine. There's no way I'd want to take a buggy that costs hundreds of pounds on a plane. I looked at the yoyo but discounted it as I wanted lie flat.

I guess it depends what you want it for. If you are literally just going to use it on holiday and it's not going to get a lot of hard wear, then you might just want a cheapy. We've used our yo yo for the last two years, and as our daily pram for probably over a year so feel like we've had good use out of it. I've never worried about it getting damaged when we've taken it abroad, as we fold it at the door to the aircraft, put it in its bag and it goes in as cabin luggage - it's never been anywhere near the hold.

I quite like the Yoyo, I got a second hand one now but I can't really use it anymore so I need a new one. My 2,5yr old still uses it sometimes and with nr2 on the way I don't mind investing.
Does anyone know if there are any good offers on these sometimes?

We've got an IckleBubba Aurora (bloody awful company name) which is basically a YoYo rip off. It fits in overhead compartments on most planes, except for the BA ones into London City!

My concern about the rip offs from China was safety - I vaguely remember mclaren recalling pushchairs for trapping fingers in America...goodness knows if the rip offs have had any safety testing, so might collapse, trap fingers, tip, have sharp bits etc
