Pushchairs

First pushchair help!

I'm 3 months away from my due date and finally looking into the complicated world of pushchairs!

I like the idea of one that reclines flat rather than one that has a separate carrycot, but the couple that I've seen that can do this (mamas and papas sola2, britax affinity) need to be forward facing to fold, which seems a bit inconvenient to me.

I'll also be flying fairly often so a lightweight, compact pushchair with a one handed fold (with the seat rear facing) would be great.

Does anyone know if such a thing exists? Also, does anyone have any experience with the "from birth" pushchairs?

Any help is much appreciated!

Sorry, posted too soon. BugabooBee is one option however you would need to put it in the hold when flying. If you're going to fly and want the pushchair before baby is 6 months you may like a Babyzen Yoyo0+ but past 6 months it's outward facing only.

Silver cross reflect with baby pack is an umbrella stroller and folds when in baby mode with everything in place.

It's lightweight etc.

I used a Maclaren and a sling from birth (the techno, I think). So light and easy to push, perfect for flights. Doesn't lie totally flat or do parent facing, but neither of these things were important for me. The baby did look a bit ridiculous when she was tiny, but was perfectly comfortable (with the newborn head support and cosytoes thing).

I'd have a look at uppababy Cruz it's brilliant easy to us. Very easy fold slim and light weight. Great storage basket for shopping too. Other good ones for you would be the bugaboo bee and baby zen yoyo.

I have Mamas and Papas Sola 2 that I used from birth without the carrycot ( summer baby). I fly frequently to visit my parents who live abroad and honestly cannot fault this pram, it has a big basket underneath that I usually pop my DD's bag with snacks and drinks etc AND my hand luggage, then attach changing bag to the handle. I really like it as even though it is not the smallest of prams it is easy to travel with.

I had a Sola but have just got a silver cross pop, I never thought I would get a second pram but I love the pop, easy to use small and manageable and an easier steer than the sola. The extendable hood is great you can get all the extras - umbrella, footman etc. The only downside is it is difficult to access the storage basket when using lie flat.

Mamas and papas armadillo flip/flip xt - can be folded with the seat facing either way, the seat lies flat, though there is a carrycot if you want, and it's not too big. We have the flip and have flown with it, it was fine.

Thanks everyone. Definitely some things to think about! It's a pretty tricky decision and that's before I've got onto car seats... 😊

Lol I was you 5 months ago. I got an iCandy Raspberry and I'm happy with it so far. Reclines flat (although your baby might absolutely hate being flat not being able to look around...mine did so I let him sit in the carseat attachment). So glad I didn't waste money on a carrycot. If you won't be getting a carseat you can just buy a newborn cocoon, sheepskin or something like that for the pramseat. Folds with seat facing either way. Lightweight, compact. Not one hand fold :-( but it stands alone and can be wheeled when folded!
