Armadillo Flip XT or iCandy Raspberry

Hi everyone. First timer mum here and all these pushchair/stroller options are really doing my head in. Whatever happened to the good old "take it or leave it" days? Smile

Would really appreciate some help please with my 2 final choices.

I have narrowed my choices down to the Armadillo Flip XT or the iCandy Raspberry.

I live in London and don't own a car so will be travelling on the tube. We have been given a car seat by a trusted friend so I know its not been in an accident. So other than bringing the baby home from hospital and maybe one or two trips a year with my parents, we don't need a travel system.

More than that, this will be a summer baby so I want to take advantage of our location next to canals and parks etc to take the baby out in the sun every day. I am trying to avoid buying a carrycot and both these strollers are good to go from birth with addition of a cocoon for the newborn (MUCH cheaper than a carrycot).

Has anyone used either of these? Would love your thoughts, good or bad pretty please Smile

P.S - Sorry about the other thread. I didnt put the correct title and have reported it to mumsnet for deletion.

I just got the Armadillo Flip XT for my 16mo to replace a bigger and bulkier system. I really love it! Very light and easy to push around. Folds easily and small.

If it had been out when I was originally looking, I would have had this instead of my Zezu.

Thanks TeamEponine ... I really like it too so far, over the raspberry since it folds much smaller. I live in a tiny London flat and space is at a premium. The Armadillo folds up small enough to push under our bed!

Raspberry seems a little flimsier too but have never used it before (other than trying it out in the shop) which is why I'm checking for opinions on how long it will last being taken on canal (paved) walks with occasional grass use.

Just to say don't discount a carrycot - I think they are especially nice for sweaty summers! We bought ours ex display and sold it on for the same price we paid - you can do the same if you buy second hand wisely (and either replace the mattress or just wash it)

I've got the flip XT and love it. It's a decent size and lo is very comfy in it, but it folds easily and very compact. We got ours when lo was 15 months and wish we'd had it from the start too!

Thanks hufflepuffin and piewife. One of the reasons I am looking at the XT is that its suitable from newborn. The cocoon unzips of its too hot so I am hoping that will do the trick. If not, I'll definitely look into buying a second hand carrycot.

Thanks so much for the recommendations so far. I really thought raspberry will be the more popular choice. iCandies seem to be everywhere. Smile
