Small holiday pushchair

Can anyone recommend a small pushchair for holidays? We've got a mclaren techno xt but I find it very bulky when folded up. There are 4 adults going on holiday and we're really concerned that we're not going to be able to fit luggage, travel cot, and pushchair in our hire car.

Anyone got any suggestions for something small which will be ideal for my tall 18mo DD?

Have you seen the new zip folded? It's tiny, but it's,quite new out so probably not many second hand.

Or the baby yoyo zen?

I really like both of those especially the zip- that's ideal. But with them both being new you can't get any secondhand. Don't really want to pay £200 for a second pushchair just to be used for holidays.

Anyone got any other suggestions? Light, small when folded are main requirements.

The only other thing I could suggest is to get a roof box for your car? we read up on these for a similar issue. The advice seems to be not to choose a box based on your pushchair measurements but To keep the pushchair in the boot and put soft items like bags, clothes etc in the box.

Jus read back it's a hire car so that probably isn't an option. Bigger hire car? Erm I'll keep thinking...
Maclarens are quite long folded even though they are narrow so tens to have to lie diagonally in the boot, what about a fold like the baby jogger city mini. It folds in half across the width of the, seat.

Thanks Autumn.

We've got an estate cat with a roofbox on so keep the MacLaren in there at home but as you say it's a hire car so not an option. Just been looking at baby joggers on eBay and it looks good. Not as long but more bulky but I'm thinking it could sit on top of cases in the boot.

Ideally I need a second hand baby zen or zip but they are as rare as hens teeth at the mo!

I've just bought a graco evo mini for £99 new on Amazon for our holiday with lots of public transport, slightly smaller and lighter than a BJCM.

The back wheels easily pop off the BabyJogger City Mini, with that done it's quite flat.

I often take that on UK holidays instead of the Maclaren, although our boot is huge so the Maclaren easily fits down one side of it with one set of wheels against the back of the seats and the other set of wheels and the handles by the door of the boot.

The nano would fit behind the seat under you childs feet its the size of a hand luggage bag. How long is the transfer? could you do 2 journeys

That's a good idea about putting it in the footwell under the baby's seat.

The mini isn't the smallest but the flat fold is easy to slip on top of other packed luggage - particularly if you pop the wheels off as someone else suggested. I was very lucky and got my battered one at an NCT sale for £20. DH didn't think we needed a third buggy... He was probably right but it's nice to have one for planes etc!
