Cybex Onyx versus Maclaren Techno XT

I am in the market for a single umbrella stroller to take when travelling by air and use as a second buggy at my Mum's. DS is two and DD is two months old so it has to be suitable from birth and for a toddler up to the age of at least 3 (DS is on the small side anyway). It also has to be easy and quick to fold up on London buses and take up very little room in a boot.

Being a pramaholic, I already own a Mountain Buggy Swift, a Bugaboo Bee Plus, a Maclaren Mark II and an iCandy Peach Blossom. None fit these requirements.

I have researched extensively and narrowed it down to the Cybex Onyx or the Maclaren Techno XT.. Tested them both out on Saturday. Each one has its pros and cons, the biggest one being that the handles are high for both me and DH. I am 5ft 2 and he is 5ft 6. The Maclaren Techno XT ones feel like they sit under my armpits!

Please help me decide by sharing your experience of either one! Has anyone on here used the Cybex Onyx?

Hi! I had a look at this one already but the canopy does not cover them enough when they are fully reclined. Both the Cybex Onyx and the Maclaren Techno XT have large canopies that almost cover them from head to toe when fully reclined, especially the Onyx. I am sick of carrying canopy extenders and Snoozeshades about. They just take up room in what is a very small basket and are such a faff! The Babyzen Yoyo does remind me of my beloved Bugaboo Bee though. Smile

I would go for a trusty maclaren everytime.

Hi I can't comment on the Cybex but I have the Maclaren Techno and have been very pleased with it. The handles are quite high but it's so easy to push it doesn't bother me and I'm 4'11.

We have the maclaren. You cannot access the basket underneath once the seat is reclined and the pockets are too small to carry anything useful.
Also, it is not amazing on sand. Other than that, it's a great buggy as a back up.
