Pushchairs

wanting another pram

so dd is 10 months old and i'm getting the urge to go pram shopping again. i really like the icandy peach.
i have a silvercross 3d in the shed from previous dd, a baby merc junior sitting unused in the kitchen, and an oyster. i have just given away a graco and will probably give away the baby merc whch i only used for six weeks. it was way too big. i like my oyster and have used it daily for just under 10 months now so starting to get bored. i have never used the main seat for oyster so its like brand new. i still use the carseat with it as dd is still smallish.
anyone have the icandy peach? i've been looking on gum tree, pre loved and ebay, but i don't want to end up with one that falls apart in months cos the other half will kill me.
this would defo be the last pram as we are not planning to have more kids.
what do you think?

Why don't you use the perfectly decent comfortable pram you've got instead of squashing your poor baby up in a car seat all day is what I think.

If DD is 10 months old, and you are not having any more, why do you need a pram? Do you mean a stroller?

Report
Caronaim · 01/02/2015 17:44

I mean, like a small folding pushchair, not sure if stroller is the right word. You just need something little now, don't you?

Is this some sort of bizarre stealth boast.

Head over to the pushchairs topic where I've heard there are plenty of other oddbods posters who seem to find buggies interesting.

I have absolutely no idea what all these prams are.

So YABU.

saucyjack if she was squashed in the car seat she wouldnt be in it, she would be in the main seat. and she isnt in it all day. she was very prem so a lot smaller than reg 10 months old. looks more like a 6month old. but thanks for your unhelpful comment.

God I wish I had your problems!!!!

Why not sell the ones you already have and use the money to buy the new one?

It sounds like it might be a bit of a waste at 10mo, but as someone who bought a new pram and a new pushchair for each DC I blame the hormones I can't really criticise! Whatever floats your boat, if you can afford it.

How do you mean 'bored'? Confused

cant you just use one of the multiple prams you already have? Am I not stating the obvious or am I missing the point entirely?

Report
DramaAlpaca · 01/02/2015 17:52

I think it's a complete waste of money to get another pram when you already have three.

I must be missing it with you rocking Smile

Dude, listen to yourself: are you made of money?

Do you have money to burn?

How many prams can you use at a time?

Would another pram be necessary?

Could you spend the 100's of £'s on a holiday away with your DD or a fantastic day out rather than wasting it on something you and she don't really need?

Do people really buy multiple prams because they're "bored"?

Report
Rockingrobin69 · 01/02/2015 17:58

Maybe give the money for the new pram and all the other prams you don't need to a childrens charity and stop boasting about your multiple prams and urges to get more due to boredom all over mumsnet! First world problems to the extreme!

I understand that prams/pushchairs have somehow become a statement and quite an obsession a friend of mine had a new one every few weeks It's weird they are a functional item like a hair dryer or toaster if the one you have is doing the job why waste money on another??

Can't say as I ever had the budget to buy a new pram simply to alleviate boredom, so it's my natural way to think 'good grief' - but hey, it's your money and we're all different. I never found prams or buggies an especially exciting purchase and stuck with the McLaren Techno through three kids, until it fell apart. At that point I bought the cheapest one argos did. Think it was £20. It was brilliant too.

I'd say buy something else with that money, but if you are stirred by prams, why not?

Really fucking odd. We had a secondhand travel system and I never got 'bored' of it or even gave it any thought. Agree that overuse of car seats is bad for babies spines though!

Take the pram money and stick it in a post office account for DC.

There are loads of local FB groups where people swap prams and pushchairs all the time. Maybe look into that?
