Hello
My husband and I are expecting out first baby at the end of january.
My husband has cerebral palsy effecting his right side primarily his right arm and hand. We need advice on a light weight pram that can be pushed, folded and strapped very easily ideally one handed so that he can use it independently . I have looked at the bugaboo but it seems quite difficult to assemble

Hmmm, I think it's either easy pushing or easy folding. My silver Cross Surf is easy to push one handed because it's got a single bar like handle but you cannot dismantle it at all with one hand.

My silver cross pop is easy to fold up one handed, in fact designed that way but it has two separate handles to push and I find it quite hard to steer one handed - it's also not suitable from birth.

I think you need to look for an 'umbrella' folder if you want to collapse one handed but I'm not sure they cone with one handle.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help....

the baby jogger city mini is lightweight and easy to push one handed. also folds one handed

Congratulations!
The easiest folding buggy is the Baby jogger city mini, completely doable one handed :)
I think it is suitable from birth, but not totally sure.
I think the straps will be his biggest challenge, I currently have to fight a toddler who doesn't want strapping in, but I'm sure he'll get the knack with a sleeping newborn :)

Also came on to post baby jogger city mini, but see others have beaten me to it! Very easy to fold one handed and easy to steer. It's suitable from birth, but the baby faces away from you. It does have a carrycot attachment, but in order to take it off you need to press a lever on both sides...
John Lewis stock them, so you could go and see how your husband finds it.
Congratulations!

The bugaboo bee
The nipper v3. Super light weight to push although has large wheels so great over field/ gravel etc also

Icandy strawberry could be an option. Very easy to push one handed. It's much easier than the baby jogger, which is good anyway. It's particularly easy to steer one handed. The fold is very easy once you've got the knack and can be done once handed. It's also stocked by John Lewis.

I think the Quinn buzz has an automatic fold/unfold and one handed push.

Check you can recline and sit up the pushchair. Babyjogger versa might work once the baby is bigger as the recline is one handed. You could use a carrycot but I am not sure if you need to press buttons at the same time.
The nipper is also a good as well as the city mini the problem will be you will be able to recline it but may not be able to sit it up.
I would be tempted to go to a kiddicare or john lewis and have a play. You biggest problem may be carseat. I found most of them you needed two hands to move the handle.
Your baby will get used to how you hold her or him and may not wriggle as much when you dh carried him or her

I had the mamas and papas skate. Its quite big.....but I found it easy to push, fold and unfold using one hand. ( velcro baby so could never put him down)

I have no idea about any of the others but they seem to have such good recommendations. :-)

The Stokke Xplory is easy to push one handed as it has that central bar down from the handle. Once you get the hang of folding and unfolding it it'd be fine one handed I think as long as you can use another part of your body to lean.
You need two hands to lift off the seat unit though so maybe not suitable.
The Maclarens are easy to fold one handed and easy enough to push one handed with a small baby but harder as the weight of the child gets bigger!

BabyZen YoYo? www.babyzen.com/video-yoyo.php

Only suitable from 6 months though.

Definitely not the Bee, you need both hands to fold.

I would definitely check out micralites. I have the super lite and it is very easy to push one handed - I have to do this up a steep narrow path next to a busy road, while holding my toddler's hand!

It has has the easiest one handed fold that I've seen and when folded it is freestanding so you don't have to try and juggle with it! You can get the airflo carrycot to use them from birth although I don't have experience of this.

hi op. I have cp on my left side and a nearly 1 yr old. we have used baby jogger city mini since birth (although we bought a carrycot and strapped that in for first couple of months). DD had reflux and hated lying down so we didn't use carrycot beyond that. I find it very easy, to push, fold, unfold, and to lift DD in and out. All can be done one handed. HTH and best of luck, babies adapt easily and you are the only parents your DC will have, so they won't know if anything is "different", it will be normal for them.
