Does your buggy have...

(30 Posts)
nailslikeknives Wed 31-Jul-13 22:10:40

a large basket
adjustable handle height
reclining seat
parent facing option
not more than £400, hopefully a lot less
suitable for a buggy board
decent size hood
collapse in one go rather than removing a seat unit

If so, you have reached my buggy nirvana! Please tell me what you have. Thank you very much!

I've just got the Graco Sky and it has everything you need apart from the adjustable handle height.
It ticks all our boxes, I love it!

Ah you're all making me really want a versa now! I have a city mini and love it but sad it's not parent facing. Off to eBay some stuff ....

nailslikeknives Sat 10-Aug-13 21:54:53

Wow! Checking it out right now! That's a great price!

I got my Versa GT from Chariots All Terrain Pushchairs for £319 including delivery + free rain cover. The customer service was amazing too. Definitely recommend them. smile

Am def going for the versa, thanks for all the info everyone.

nailslikeknives Mon 05-Aug-13 21:56:34

The versa is £380 at boots online, but think it's a standard model, not a gt.

Hyperhelpmum Mon 05-Aug-13 19:00:00

Where did you see versa gt for 380 please?!

nailslikeknives Sun 04-Aug-13 21:51:46

I think I've made up my mind, the versa seems great. Thanks for all the suggestions.
The cheapest I've seen it for is £380. Strawberry, did practical pushchairs beat that? They haven't put the price on their site!!

Tiggywunkle Sun 04-Aug-13 17:27:10

I would stick with the Versa. Every time I want a 100% dependable pushchair with a big basket (especially for outings, day trips, weddings etc) I reach for the Versa (or my Peach). It does it all.

StrawberryMonkey Sun 04-Aug-13 06:08:06

(My versa gt was well under £400 too)

Baby jogger versa gt.
Really compact and simple fold with autolock.
Can be folded with seat facing either way.
Huge easily accessible shopping basket, also back of seat pocket.
Quality wheels with ball bearings and front wheel suspension.
Large seat unit, adjustable leg rest, 3 recline positions.
Large hood.
Adjustable handle height.
Buggy board compatible.
Not as wide as some other pushchairs with similar features.
Sturdy, highest quality, durable, excellent value for money.
Fabrics remove easily (seat boards removable) for washing. Seat fabric can be washed at 30 degrees in your machine.

I bought mine from who gave an excellent price and were good to deal with.

After trying well over 200 pushchairs I declare this the most versatile, user friendly, best buy pushchair! grin

The gt wheels on the gt version are great on gravel, in the woods, park land, icy paths etc. they are also excellent and not too large in urban environments.

What do you think tiggy? Should I stick with Versa? Have you tried the chrome? Any views?

Tiggywunkle Thu 01-Aug-13 20:51:10

Mothercare are stocking the Chrome.

Hyperhelpmum Thu 01-Aug-13 20:37:28

Where can you buy the chrome? I want to look at it, it looks pretty good (versa was my first choice but the price of joke chrome is tempting!)

AidanTheRevengeNinja Thu 01-Aug-13 11:52:03

Another vote for Bee, except the large basket (it's fine for my needs and I've nothing to compare it to, but I've heard it said the basket isn't the best). I use it with the seat unit permanently parent facing and can fold it quickly and easily, even with a footmuff on. I love it smile I got mine for £480 new for the whole package (except footmuff) from John Lewis, so if you look out for a stockist having a sale (think Mothercare has/had 15% off recently or something) it will be within budget. Or secondhand obviously.

Almost all of your criteria minus collapse in one go rather than removing a seat unit.

Found it could lie a tall two year old flat to sleep comfortably when needed. Could get a week's shopping in the basket. Robust and very cosy. Recommended.

Silver Cross

Faithless12 Thu 01-Aug-13 11:24:53

Bugaboo Bee.

Ihateparties Thu 01-Aug-13 11:18:59

Some of these, the vista and cruz, graco and mutsy evo, possibly the silver cross only fold with the seat on forwards facing. Not many fold with it parent facing. The versa, chrome and oyster definitely do. We often hear good things a out the oyster with its own buggyboard. You can even fold with the board on grin

jumperooo Thu 01-Aug-13 10:06:50

Secondhand uppababy vista or uppababy Cruz

fairimum Thu 01-Aug-13 09:14:41

uppababy vista!

MissTweed Thu 01-Aug-13 06:23:23

Baby jogger city mini GT fits your criteria, (although only facing you when the car seat is attached) only £329 (also offers on with non black ones and 2012 models) and has the luxury extras of the GT model

Tiggywunkle Thu 01-Aug-13 01:17:57

I like the MyChild Magnet (its a revamped Pinto) too. They have a neat Floe as well but I can't work out if it folds with the seat on and am not sure about the buggy board.
I would throw in the Musty Evo, Graco Evo and Babystyle Oyster too.
But the Versa is probably the best of the list here.

This is why I love mumsnet! I spent 2 hours trawling through buggies today and found nothing. But I ask you and ta da! I have 4 great options.
winewinewinewine One each! Thanks everyone.
