Pushchairs

Online pram shops- more specifically buying a baby jogger

Hi everyone,
We've settled on the baby city jogger mini GT (I like it in crimson, but that's not the biggest dilemma). We have viewed it in John Lewis, however the buggy seems to be scarce in other shops. What I have found is that it is available on lots of websites where they do not state the price without an email or telephone enquiry. (For example, pramworld, practical push chairs, groovy style baby and precious little ones).

Has anyone had any dealings with these companies?
Why do they not display the prices online?

The prices I was offered were cheaper, they did the colour I liked and even threw in a rain cover- so I'm happy to buy from them as I am more familiar with their service and motivation for hiding the price.

Thanks

I think Baby Jogger are a bit like iCandy in that they don't allow their prices to be displayed online- adds a sense of mystery I guess...certainly doesn't mean the website is necessarily dodgy.

I've had a BJCM and BJCM GT from online companies and both were delivered the next day without any problems. Can't speak for their after service though.

Worth a mention that kiddicare will price match online companies, and now have several stores around the country. Mothercare also does a price match for certain companies, and JL will price match anywhere with a physical shop.

thanks for that, I forgot about the JL price match. That might be my best bet - I wonder how it works if they don't display the price. They don't seem to sell them in Mothercare anymore.

Glad you've had a good experience with the online retailer. :)

I just got an email from whichever company was selling cheapest (which had a physical shop) then on JL website I filled in a form in the 'never knowingly undersold' bit and other shops details and price. JL confirmed a couple of days later cofirming price match. Easy, good price and just up the road if any problems.

They're not permitted to display the price on line - Silver Cross do this as well. Drives me up the wall Smile

It's not the company's fault. It's BJ who make this stipulation.

I got mine from a company that specialises in BJ pushchairs - Chariots All terrain. They are based in Dorset and have the most superb customer service I have ever encountered. Our MB came from them years ago, had a fault with the brake, they got the frame replaced.

They are very, very good and take it very seriously and will do you a good package especially if you contact them by phone. Nigel is the name of the chap.

I don't work for them Smile but I feel they deserve a recommendation.

I can only echo what the others have said. Baby Jogger dont allow certain products to have the prices put online - like other companies. Most will give you a price if you give them a call.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks for reassuring me. Unfortunately jl don't sell the crimson gt. so will be buying directly from a smaller store :)
