Pushchairs

Need help! Sad I can't have the Surf :(

So I need to get a pram/pushchair for September.. And preferably would like one suitable from birth without having to buy a carrycot separately.
I LOVE the silver cross surf and really want it (but its quite expensive at £600!)
I've looked at a few others in shops but nothing seems to match up and I always end up goin back to the SilverCross.. I love the look, how it feels etc..

So can anyone recommend a pushchair they have loved? Hopefully il be swayed! Can't really afford £600 :/

Thank you!

Is there definitely no way you can get the Surf (e.g. ebaying a few bits, cutting costs on other baby stuff) to make up the extra money compared to a cheaper model? In my experience if you don't get the pushchair you really love then you might regret it! You've said that nothing matches up to it for you so I would try and look at costs to see if there's anything you can do.

Hmm that's true I don't want to regret it - I might have a look on ebay actually.
Thanks!

I loved the surf too but couldnt afford it. Got the graco symbio b instead and havent regretted it. Ds has always been so comfy in it and it pushes nice. Only negatives are that its a bit big folded now i have a smaller car. The carrycot zips up to become the pushchair seat, its a nice little pram.

Watch Ebay and Mothercare sales. I bought mine new from Mothercare for just a few hundred pounds in their sale.
I have had the Surf, and although it looks pretty, its not the best pushchair ever, especially for storage space. The teeny wheels at the front mean its not great on anything other than smooth pavements. Have you seen the new Silver Cross Wayfarer and the Britax Affinity?

Ive got the giggle. (Cosatto) love it, and I say that as someone who had 10 pushchairs with my first

I have a surf and absolutely adore it, its a wonderful pushchair and ds2 is so comfy in it.

Currently they are £500 in mothercare as they have an offer on. They did also (last time I looked) have the older colour (graphic-black with white stripe) for just 450. Worth a look in case they still have them.

Don't like the Britax and will go and have a look at the wayfarer now.

That's why I went for the graco NTMummy It has a proper sunken carrycot though which I thought was better than the surf wedge thing

It is lovely. We never had any problem with the babynest/wedge, ds2 was comfy in it as its lovely and soft, when he got to 4.5mths we unzipped the 'wedge' part and removed it so could still use the fleecy babynest as a liner and he would sleep every time we took him out he was so comfy.
At 8 months we removed that and he just had the seat with the normal liner, I like it as even now that he's 12 mths he is still facing me (we have it on the middle seat setting and if he goes to sleep we recline it to the flattest but as its a buckety sort of seat he isn't actually completely flat which is great as he has horrendous reflux and being slightly upright helps.

It is true there is not much storage but the raincover fits underneath along with a pack of wipes, couple of nappies and an umbrella for me- the rest I just put in my bag and carry.

I have the graco symbio (the older one, not the 2 in 1 symbio B model) - I considered the surf but actually the graco carrycot is bigger so will last longer and it is a great travel system. It is so comfortable to push around. It is big but I can get the chassis in my polo boot no problem.

I saw the headline and thought you were talking about sea surf. Blush I felt awful that you couldn't get to the beach and was ready to help out! Blush Blush I live in Australia if that helps.

I had the surf with dd3 and loved it. Paid £450 for it including carry cot and colour pack. Sold it 2 years later via Facebook for £200 within 10 minutes of advertising it. I'd used it every day for 2 years and walk all the time but it lasted well and still looked great.

If you could get it at a good price maybe you could sell it on after.

If I recall, Mothercare used to do a baby plan whereby if you put down a deposit and then pay in instalments (even just 2 instalments of deposit one week and balance the next week) then you got 10% off your order. Seen as though you have time to play with, might be worth a look as you could make money between now and then to pay off.

Saying that, I have seen these come up a lot on eBay and fb selling sites which always unnerves me a little. Also means you may be able to bag a bargain!! Grin
