iCandy - so many to choose from!

Hi, I am currently 6 months pregnant and looking for a pushchair - this is all new to me and have never been on these kind of blog sites before so please stay with me :)
me and my hubby know we want an iCandy pram, we have been back and forth to our local nursery store and have tried beyond many prams - from the vista, mamas and papas to baby jogger! By this time you can imagine my husband has lost the will to live lol. The situation we are in at the moment is we cannot decide which iCandy to go for. I am lucky to have some finacial help from my parents so cost is not too much of an issues (I know very lucky, I think its because its there first GC) but we are stuck between the icandy strawberry and peach. Can anyone advise me if you have either of these prams and what your thoughts are on them.
Thank you in advance for your help!

We bought an Icandy peach when dd was 6 weeks, we had a silver cross 3d vogue before and it was shocking compared to this! I love it! We bought it second hand like new and it converts to a double. It pushes perfect, loads of options for positioning, room underneath, lovely colour, just everything! My DP loves it too, he often says how pleased he is that we upgraded! All in all a lovely pram, worth the money ten fold! & this is coming from someone who thought spending more than £200 on a pram was ridiculous!

Plus they hold their resale value too

Both the Strawberry and Peach were contenders for me too. HOwever, as a one-piece fold was really important to me, the Strawberry won.

thank you for your comments, its a massive help! See I thought that the one piece fold had a big advantage but also I know im jumping but the peach can convert to a double for when the second kiddy comes along and its these fantastic features that is making it hard for me. Arghhhh who knew shopping for prams could be so hard!! icandy give so many options lol. Leboob do you think you will convert if you have another or go for a different icandy? Suckingdiesel & mamapo do you feel that having the one fold out weighs the option of converting?
Sorry again for the questions, I really want to make the right choice for my baby. Thank you again! xxx

Converting didn't come into the equation for me as I'm not planning another DC. Although, thinking about it, I would still have opted for the one piece fold over the option to convert. But that's easy for me to say as I wouldn't want 2 children so close together as to need a double pushchair for them.

I actually don't fold mine much at the moment as I'm using the carrycot, which has to be removed. I think I'll fold it a lot when were using the seat.

Didn't contemplate a pram suitable for 2, to be honest, as I'm rubbish at planning ahead!

I love my icandy peach.... I haven't used it for a year or so (my DD is 2 now and I find an umbrella stroller more convenient to just keep in the car....we're not big walkers!) but I am looking forward to dusting it off for baby #2. Must admit didn't evn consider any of the other icandy ones but when I see the Cherry/ pear I always think mine looks much nicer and fancier and more robust (just my opinion!). So easy to manoeuvre, so good that you can stick the car seat on it, easy to fold etc.... I love that pram!
Don't have a view on the strawberry sorry.

I have the peach in black magic and i love it. Its so sturdy but so easy and light to manoevre. The shopping basket is big, the carrycot is comfy. And i cant tell you how many compliments i get on it! Smile

We got a very good deal on it complete with convertor bars 2nd seat and 2nd carry cot. It looks more comfortable as a double than other brands too!

And it's not too heavy even when in 2 bits

I have both a Peach and a Strawberry at present (and have had a Cherry, Pear, Peach Jogger and have had a Peach Blossom 1 and 2!).
I used to think the Peach and Strawberry were similar, but they really aren't!
I thought I would love the Strawberry because of the one piece fold...and whilst its handy, I actually find the 2 piece fold of the Peach much easier to handle. I struggle to fold the Strawberry FF as the hood "nips" my fingers as I push forwards on the chassis to fold. I find the seat harder to put on. The basket really annoys me because it wont stay fully upright when PF and twice I have lost things out of the basket and we haven't been on many runs with it. Thank goodness I havent lost my handbag out of it but we have lost some important stuff :\ I wasn't impressed. The Peach basket in comparison is lovely and deep and I have never lost a thing out of it - and can carry a weeks shopping home easily. The Strawberry fold is so long that I can't even get it into my 7 seater boot with the rear ones folded away! The door kept bashing on the handle! However I do like how it freestands and the unfold is neat. I like the "punnet" for your raincover and the brake is easy to flip on and off. The seats are very similar on both. I just find the Peach is MUCH simpler to use, I love the chunky handle and all round it wins by miles for me.

I wish stores did buy 1 get 1 free when it comes to prams :(

I have a strawberry and rate it. Have read Tiggy's post with interest as I haven't found the fold remotely difficult and have never nicked my fingers on the hood. The basket is quite shallow but not enough for me to complain about it. I don't tend to put much in there anyway. We have a Citroen Picasso and it fits folded with seat in there with room to spare. All in all we've been very happy with it. Although I've never had anything else to compare it with Smile

Hi everyone, sorry that I haven't been on for a while we have had coughs and sniffles in my house and I couldnt move from the sofa! However I can say that we went to our local shop on Saturday and put our order in for our icandy! So excited to say we went for the.....STRAWBERRY! As much as I had the future in my mind my DP was hooked on the one piece fold and just how beautiful the pram looked. Thank you to everyone who helped on here, every post helped us :) now just cant wait to get it, it is ready to take now but the store is going to hold on to it for us, but until then I know we have made the right choice for us. Cannot wait for baby to be here and post all about it :) xxxx
