vista or versa or gt - oh my!

So, I thought I totally wanted the uppababy vista. Then went to see it and was put off a bit by the folding, which we'll want to use a lot as small hallway to store it.

I saw rave reviews for the versa and thought - that's it! But can't find any places to try it. Now a nearby shop has versa gt version.

If I tell people what I want it for and options can people make up my mind please. Going to see versa gt tomorrow and awake thinking about options.

I mostly want it for out and about town, shopping, cafe stuff. But we also have dogs and walk them in a local park which has hard path but not tarmac so could be bumpy. I don't want to compromise a decent nippy around town pushchair to have some 3 wheeled heavy all terrain, but my pushchair still has to cope with dog walks a bit - most days of around 15 - 30 mins.

I use car but not all the time.

So my questions - are the pros of vista (carrycot for overnight, forever air tyres, can double later) worth the dealing with the ease of folding versa everyday and downside of smaller plasticy wheels. Should I get a gt for better wheels even tho its heavier and only comes in black (heart set on red).

Should I get versa then buy cheap all terrain when baby is 6+ months and we're likely to do muddy walks without sling for baby.

Please help - I thought I'd got it sussed but options are increasing not decreasing.

I can't help but I'm also hesitating between the vista and the versa. I don't have dogs to take into consideration, but the other criteria are similar. I want something comfortable for the baby, with a carry cot. Something I can push with one hand, easy to fold, big basket, good quality and durable. I don't often go on public transport, so it's going to be mainly used for going on walks, school run with older DS and some trips in the car.

I will be going to JL one weekend to see the vista ( still have plenty of time as baby not due till July) but i haven't found a local stockist of the versa.

Please, do come back and tell me what you think once you've had a chance to look at it.

Ok, dont buy the Vista as a double. You have to have exactly the right age gap for it to work, so absolutely forget that as a reason to buy the Vista.
Also, unless you need the carrycot for overnight sleeping, then thats not really a good enough reason for me to buy it. You can pick baby travel cots up really cheaply on EBay (or a bigger one for long term).
Look at the two pushchairs, and decide which you like. Both are great pushchairs - top spec and very good.
They are just a bit different in style etc. and I think TBH you will prefer one over the other.
You may well swap pushchairs at 6 months, but I dont know any of my friends, even with 3 and 4 year olds in pushchairs who given a parent facing option, wouldn't use it! I wouldn't consider turning my 6 month old round to forward face, if I had the option to still parent face. If you choose the right one of these pushchairs, you should never need another pushchair.
The wheels would be my consideration. I haven't used the Vista seriously off road, but it handles gravel, bumps etc pretty well.
Go with your heart. I dont see how you will go wrong with either.

Well I went to see Versa and Gt yesterday. The suspension in the gt seemed quite hard and I feel like the normal versa wheels could handle a lot. But...


The versa generally blew the vista out of the water for me because of the amazing and small fold. I found vista complicated and not that small and considering we will be leaving it in hallway, its a major thing. The upsides of the vista I.e. overnight carrycot and rumble seat won't matter to us as much as the easy folding. Plus if the gt came in other colours I'd def consider but don't like black.

So normal versa it is. I kept going back to vista trying to convince myself it was the one for me but when I had a go with versa, I knew it was the right one IYSWIM.

pugoff will you be using the versa from birth? If so, are you getting th carrycot for it too?

Hi Pugoff, just jumping in as I've just ordered a standard versa too (I went for black though). I'll be using it for similar things, town, walks, bit of rough ground on the way to the park. Duende, I've ordered the carrycot and plan to use this from birth (baby due in 5 weeks) until moving on to the seat at 6 months, assuming baby doesn't grow out of the carrycot early, in which case I'll think of something!

Yes, going to buy carrycot too. Even with buying extras its still cheaper than vista so I don't mind.

Thanks Pugoff and Badgerhoney. Have you seen the versa with the carrycot attached? I can't find any photos of it actually on the buggy, will have to venture out one weekend and find a stockist I suppose.

yes, I've seen it with carrycot. good solid fit, not quite as big as vista carrycot but plenty big enough and I'd have thought it'll easily last months. not for overnight sleeping but still nice quality.
