good value second hand pushchair?

what should i look out for on ebay? I want a good sturdy pushchair suitable for young baby that will last, or that i can sell on later if I want to change! not sure of my budget but definitely not more than £200, are there any old models that are worth looking for? I used to have one in the 90s that i loved but im not sure what it was called.

Have a look at micralite toro. In my opinion a very good pushchair (not perfect tho) and goes for peanuts on
eBay! I've seen carrycots sold for 99p and the full package costing £300+ going for £70. It's just not popular so demand doesn't push up prices.

I got our Bugaboo Frog for £140 and couldn't be happier. It's the older version of the Cameleon which now retail at about £700-800 which is ridiculous. It's done 2 dc before mine, and there wasn't a mark on it. Ds was an unusually long baby and curious with it so was out of the carrycot by about 10 weeks, but it did us until then and we used it instead of a moses basket too so it saved us money in that respect. He's now 9mo, very happy facing me in the seta unit, and it's been able to cope with the snow this week with no problem. I think you should look at more expensive brands than you can afford to buy new, as the quality will still be excellent enough that being second hand won't really matter. I have a friend with a secondhand mountain buggy that is built like a tank, must be 10 years old easily but still as good as ever.

As always look first at what you need in a pushchair. For example if you dont mind non parent facing then you can pick up a Baby Jogger City Mini new for £199.99 at present and TBH that would last and have a good resale value should you wish. It can be used from birth like that, or you can enjoy finding a cocoon or second hand carrycot for it. If you want parent facing, then have you any other requirements like size etc.
I agree with MN044 if you buy a good brand like Bugaboo the chances are it will last you, plus parts are available. However brands like Bebecar and Silver Cross dont hold their value as well, partly because they are such big pushchairs.

thanks i think that i will look out for a bugaboo! and ive found my favourite pushchair from the 90s on google images, was a maclaren superdreamer, cant imagine that id find one of those in good condition on ebay!

I third it as a very good pushchair - but there are tons and tons of options and pushchairs out there that are excellent too. I think one detail which is critical is if the OP wants a parent facing option.

The Pliko Pramette goes for pennies on Ebay. I paid £700 for the pram, carrycot liner, car seat, isofix base, cosytoes x 2, parasol, changing bag, cup holder.

Basically every accessory they make I bought and looking at past sales I will be lucky to get £100 for the lot!

The pramette had my babies feet above his head, he was at a very strange angle and i was worried all the blood was going to his head

That's not good mosman did you contact them about it ? Sounds like a fault as mine was level when in pram mode. In fact it's been great and only stopped using it as my partner recently learnt to drive and we bought a tiny car so wanted a small folding pushchair now that DD is old enough.

That is bad, I have heard their after sales is pretty awful, glad to have never needed it.

That's aprtly why nobody want's M&P 2nd hand, they know there's no recourse if it goes wrong and you've got the receipt nevermind if you haven't.
