Running With Twins

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of running with twins (or two children)? I'd like to start taking my baby boys out once they reach 6 months and am looking to see what pushchairs are available and whether I can get one fairly cheaply (I can't really justify spending too much as it will be our third buggy!)

Firstly, we already have the Out-n-About Nipper, which apparently can have it's front-wheel fixed. Has anyone run with this? Is it manageable? It actually looks quite similar to some of the running doubles I've seen on eBay, except for the size of the wheels (smaller) and no brake.

Secondly, does anyone have recommendations of other models suitable for running? I'm struggling to find anyone in the UK stocking running double like the Instep Flash or Schwin Arrow.

In my mind, I'd like to ultimately run for an hour or two, although reality may not live up to that :-)

Thanks,

Matt

I run with a single nipper and it has been brilliant, I do a lot of off road/trail running as we'll as pavements and its coped well.

A friend of mine runs with a double nipper which she has spruced up with the larger wheels from the Out'n'About Sport, she can't fault it either (dont know if this is still possible with V2 as hers is a V1). I know plenty of people who run with the standard double nipper and I haven't heard any complaints.

I can't help you with any other brands but I will watch this thread with interest as ill hopefully need a double at some point in the future so I'd be interested to know what is out there.

I run with a 4 year old and a 2 year old and i use the old style (pre2010) mountain buggy double terrain, it has fixed front wheels and i just picked up a second one of ebay for £65. I live in North Yorkshire and run on roads, bridleways and fields, its brilliant and i will not use any other buggy, even my friends like pushing it (occasionally but not uphill!) The furthest i have run is 10 miles with them both, and they were perfectly alright waving at the traffic, you can also put food and juice/water in the sunshade canopy and it won't fall out...

Thanks for that. It sounds like it's worth trying the Nipper with the fixed wheel once my boys are a liitle bit older. It's good to hear of people running 10 miles with two children as I'd be pleased with that. I imagine it's good training too.

Cheers
