double buggy? buggy board? advice needed!

Hi All,

I'm pg with DC2, due in June when DD will be 3. Do you think I can get away with a buggy board, or do I need to swap to a double buggy? What age do you think I need a buggy up to? I currently have a baby jogger city mini 3 wheeler and a DH who is utterly opposed to spending a penny more on buggies (my fault, I cocked up and bought a Quinny for DD first off- v. expensive and v. heavy mistake :-) ). Any advice gratefully received!

I would say no. But then Eldest went straight on a buggy board at 19 months when his little brother made an appearance. I would spend the time between now and then 'training' them up to walk everywhere tbh, then just by a board if you need to when the time comes.

I would try without anything - or at the most a buggy board - but I hated mine as I couldn't steer the pram with it.

My DD1 was 2.3 when we had DD2, so I did the buggy board for a bit, and then bought a very cheap double buggy - we were back into the single pram by the time DD1 was 2.9, with no bugy board, as she could walk mile or so, play in the park/ swing for a bit and then walk a mile back home by then.

It will make your life much easier if DD1 can walk, and you can use your lovely pram.

Thanks Greek and Mummypig,

This is just what I hoped to hear! DD is very independent minded so hopefully this will work! Thanks again!

Oh my gosh unlesss DD has SN I would definitely not bother with a double.

They are cumbersome and expensive - yes if you have a small gap you need one, but why go to the trouble of pushing a 3yo around in a buggy?

I woldn't even bother with a b/board tbh. Get her a scooter.

My gaps are 2yrs and 22 mo and we never needed a double. B/board was good till they were about 3yo.
