Anyone seen the new Phil and Teds Dot and Navigator?

I'm in the market for a phil and teds and have narrowed it down to the Dot or navigator (i think!) but would really like to see them before I buy. I see on the P&T website that they have launched in certain places in mainland UK but they don't have any in Northern Ireland which is where I am. So has anyone seen them? what are they like? Are they much smaller than the others?

I've got to get hold of it in the next few weeks as will be going abroad again until after DC2 is born so any views appreciated!

I saw the Dot yesterday but unfortunately I don't have much to compare it to. I haven't had a P&Ts before and they didn't have an explorer to see it next to. For what it's worth I was really impressed and think we're going to go for it. I'm just holding off as the place I saw it (east midlands so not much use I'm afraid) will have a navigator demo in soon and I'd like to see them side by side. It did look really compact and having looked at loads (I put a thread up about this the other day) it looks like the one for us.

that does help - thanks backinaminute - I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money sight unseen! I've just been studying a pic of Jessica Alba using it for a bit of real life comparison! I've emailed a whole load of places around here to ask if they're going to get it but I'm on a bit of a time crunch so got to get a move on!

I know, I'm just the same. I've looked at loads and keep going back and forth to look at them. It's such a big outlay that I want to make sure it's right (and there's part of me that is convinced that the right pushchair will make my life with a toddler and newborn easier).

There's quite a lot on the actual P&T website and I watched the instructional video to get a perspective on the size. It seems that the Dot is smaller but when I did a comparison thing they looked the same size so I'm not sure. There is also a list on there of places they are launching them, I'm not sure if there's anywhere near you though (on my phone so tricky to check). Good luck!

glad it's not just me who's convinced this is the magic solution to an easy life with two DCs!! The launch ones are all on the mainland - nothing in rep of Ireland either..... I've been tempted to hop on a cheapy plane and pop over to London but think that might be a step too far!!

Just watched the video on it. Maybe it will help-

thanks for that gemha79 - that does help - but there is just no substitute for putting my DS1 in it to check that he fits! Think I'm going to go to a P&T stockest tomorrow to try him in the explorer then get out my tape measure to check he'll fit in the dot too!

just thought I'd update in case anyone else is looking for one of the new phil and teds. Now I have to admit I didn't have my DS with me when I went to the shop (doh!) so I didn't get him to try all the different types but my impression was that the Dot was just a little too small for my 3 year old (fair enough!) but that it would be great for anyone younger - I don't know if the figures tell the same story but I (and the sales woman) felt that the second seat in particular was slightly deeper in the navigator and it's got a much better hood than the Dot (easier to adjust and bigger) so I went for the navigator and I'm happy. Also had a look at the explorer and both of the new ones are smaller - especially when they fold.
I tried out the navigator yesterday (just with DS cos new bubs isn't born yet!) and it was good (once I'd figured out how to keep the front wheel on swivel rather than fixed!) - so I think I made the right call.... but if I had my choice, I'd have liked the navigator frame with the dot wheels - or the dot with the navigator second seat! but there is no perfect solution eh!

....just in case anyone is having the same dilemmas!

Shangers, thank you for your reply. I had ordered this morning, unseen and unknown the navigator for my 30 month old and 16 month old- you have reassured me it was probably the right choice- thank you Grin

Backinaminute, where did you see it?

Hi sorry, I've just seen this. I saw both the Dot and the Navigator yesterday at Precious Little One in Grantham. They had a rep there and went through them both and tried DS (17 months but tall) in all the seats. Again the Dot second seat didn't seen quite tall enough for the longevity that I'm hoping for and we've ordered the Navigator too. I thought they were both brilliant though and I'm happy. I didn't realise that on the Navigator (and probably the Dot too) you can use the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat with the adapter on top without removing the fabric and DS went underneath. I also tried him in the second seat with nothing in the first seat and it didn't tip so hopefully this solves the issue of having the swap the baby round when DS hops out. Thanks for all your help on here with this.

I saw the p&t dot today in mc, DD is 21 months old but on the bottom centile, so weighs in at 8.4kg. DC2 is due April, though I'm hoping DD won't be using the buggy much, I need something handy. I did think the dot a little small, but they didn't stock the Navigator [which looks a better bet]

How has everyone been getting on with their navigators? For DD we had a graco travel system but sold this and moved to a second hand Maclaren XT as soon as possible. However this is now falling apart and needs to be replaced for DC2.

Would also be interested in knowing how the maxi cosi car seat integrates, is this good, is it well balanced?

Do not waste your money on this pushchair. It is the worse invention ever created. I bought this pram 2 weeks ago from kiddiecare.com. It seemed like the best pram (light, small and easy to fold). However, it is a nightmare I took it on test drive with my two kids and found out that the break is not working. On top of that the pram kept leaning on one side despite the tires beeing well inflated. It is rip off and does not worth the money at all.

Hi there. I'm new to mums net. I've worked out that DC and DD are code for your babies..., but what I they stand for?
