last ever buggy purchase!! school run/fields - one handed

after trying to walk with our zapp xtra and hold DDs hand today i realised that is not going to work, was going to use the vigour but it has just broken.... needs to have same sort of seat as vigour/bugaboos that tips back (due to DS reflux) - push one handed, last until he is out of buggy, work across lumpy field, gravel... maybe buggy board... any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

lol oh and forgot rear facing! and YES i know i want everything... thinking it won't happen though :( I had a cameleon and hated it :( Wondering if the uppababy vista would work though... bit ££ though seeing as wouldnt need the carrycot!

Apparently the Cameleon isn't as good to push as the Frog or Gecko. I've got a Gecko that's great on bumpy ground. Was that what you didn't like about it?
The Out n About Nipper is really easy to push and has a bucket seat. Or get another Vigour? By all accounts the Vista is great.

I would have said the Vista, or Baby Jogger City Select (it's a good single!), or even an iCandy Apple or Apple Jogger or Peach, but iCandy don't recommend adding a buggy board.

can't have the nipper - he needs to have a seat that stays in the seated position that tips back and forth :( like the vista, bugaboos - also he tends to only sleep rear facing - difficult child! How are the frog/geckos seat sizes? also the cam we had the frame was really wobbly, just wanted something a bit more solid.... IF the vista fitted all the requirements we could try and save for it!

love the look of the icandy peach jogger - but no price yet and bet be more than the vista! lol worried as people keep saying how huge and heavy the apple is - i had a cherry and LOVED it so much (until it broke!) - does the vista fold smaller than the icandys?

The Britax B-Dual is good on rough ground - are any of the single Britaxes good?

the vigour we had was good, but it broke :( the new ones dont have the right sort of seat unit for DS, he can't lay flat flat due to his on going refluxy issues :(

The Peach Jogger is £595 plus a core seat snuggle of you want one. I think there are delays with it though.

The Gecko's seat is exactly the same as the Cameleon. The Frog's is a tad shorter but I think it's the same width. The Gecko's frame doesn't feel wobbly to me-maybe a little bit bouncy sometimes over very rough ground (over tree roots for example).
MonkeysPunk has a Vista and raves about it all the time. I'm sure it would fit your requirements but I'd be tempted to try out a cheap Gecko/Frog or something else incase they suit your needs without the expense. This is coming from someone who has owned 10 pushchairs with one child of 11 months though.Wink

I know I have been watching it - but concerned that doesnt have the upright seating position? also i emailed to ask if it had the extra pull out sunshade bit, as DS is VERY fair and we are having real problems keeping him out of the sun so it would be ideal!

My Vista is still sat in it's box in the hall lol The Rumble seat should only be two weeks away though. I doubt I will keep it long but I am open to surprises :) I may love it!

Another option could be a Kolcraft Contours 3 wheeler. The black one is £130 shipped from the USA. They have bucket seats that can face either way and there's a good chance it'll push well.

Tiggy Did you get the rumble seat shipped? Or did you buy it in the UK?

Vista seat is larger than bugaboo. Vista folds very much smaller and neater than bugaboo. Vista folds in one piece if seat on ff.
I like the vista quality better.
With a new vista you have warranty. If you buy second hand bugaboo you have no warranty.
I had big problems with bugaboo seat stitching coming undone and basket material fraying a large hole. They were fab and replaced under warranty. However it was the least durable buggy I ever owned and I list confidence in the product and sold. I bought when Ds was 2y, and problem developed within 4 months of owning!
Had my vista a couple of months now, no sign of problems yet. Is actually more convenient and user friendly in many ways. We love it.

That ebay one may actually be the larger seat unit with 4 positions. I can see it has the flip out visor. I'm 99% sure its the latest seat, which would've been introduced in the usa by Dec 2009 I believe. It looks as large as my seat on that pic. Worst case scenario you could obtain a new seat unit from uppababy. It would click in. But really that looks like the latest one to me.

Oh, hang on a minute, no that is the rib in the hood, not the visor. Those are the older wheels on chassis too. :(

Look on Youtube, there's lots of videos and some compare the new and old models of the Vista...Newer version has the bolt upright seat.
