I took the plunge and bought a mima xari in white and red and it is just fab, very eye catching, lots of comments and looks pushing it along the seafront Grin i have had it for a week now and have walked miles with it, it is so easy to push and the seat was so easy to turn around when i was walking direct into the sun. the front basket holds the raincover, small foldable bag and backpack reins, back basket is not huge, but it is big enough for a dayout with drinks suncream hats, nappies, wipes etc, you can hang things off the handlebar which i did with their buckets and spades. The white is so easy to keep clean, i just wiped the marks off the foot rest from dd shoes with a baby wipe and off they came, i don't let her eat in it though and she sits on a piddle pad just incase of nappy leakage Grin. anyone thinking about getting one go for it they are lovely in everyway, oh and on the way home it started light raining and the hood kept most of her dry [ too hot to put raincover on ]

I would love to hear :) I wondered where you had gone. Feel free to write all you like on BB. It would be really useful :) Tell me about the two boxes - is one a changing bag? The front one appears to strap on. Does it? Why? The push ability of the Kobi was fab. I love the comfort pack. Where did you get it from? Have you got the cosy toes?

the baskets are just that 2 lidded baskets, the one in between the front wheels has a magnet to keep it closed, the back one does not, but it stays closed. It glides along smoothly with no effort at all, i walked 10 miles the other day with kids on micro scooters [which i would highly recommend] it was just a dream to push, i did not bother with the footmuff as i own a stokke footmuff in olive, mountain buggy in plum, bugaboo in black and sripped buggy snuggles all of which will go. i got the seat without the carrycot, but still have the 3 tier hood, got alot of comments all good, but not as many as when i pulled my 3 section wagon [choo choo wagon] along the seafront Blush fun but harder work, i will have to do a profile page with pics they looked so sweet dd in front ds behind and buckets and spades in the third one.

Lucky you...I've decided not to buy a Xari...I'm getting a Orbit Baby G2 and it really has to be my last big spend...Just waiting for it to be posted from America.

Yes there were 2 on eBay but DH didn't think they'd get much use, which is true...Just i spent a year living in America where everyone had Radio Flyer wagons.

i got the choo choo wagon off ebay, the two boxes i took it you meant the baskets. I have two radioflyer wagons as well an off road one and the pathfinder, i would like to try the step2 canopy wagon at some point as it has a roof!!!! wagons are great but it is harder to pull something than to push but you do get used to it and they don't go up kerbs with out you lifting the front up and back on to the path so you have to plan your trip with this in mind if on your own. Let me know what the orbit is like what is the difference between the new one and the older ones,

The newer one comes with a snack tray, adjustable footrest and the parent tray is different...Recently color packs were introduced...Apart from that i think they're the same.

Tiggy On Orbit Baby's Facebook page if you look at the photographs by Orbit Baby retailers, there's a picture of both models side by side.

The xari sounds fab, nice to see you here again pransgalore too.
Is the xari seat large enough for say a four year old?

Report
pramsgalore · 09/08/2011 10:11

Hi, it depends really on the size of the 4 year old, my 2.5 year old well she now 2.10 [don't know why i keep saying 2.5] she fits in seat with room to grow , i am hoping she will still fit the summer hols before her 5th birthday as we walk miles in the hols, but she is small [all my kids are short]. i will measure the seat to hood later for you.

the back of the seat from seat to top of seat is 47cm to hood 50cm, hope this helps, could you tell me what the seat back length and seat to hood height is on your vista if you get chance please as i would still like one, and hopefully selling my double mb today, Grin oh and i love your volo candy bar it's lovely, tempted myself but i seem to go with large pushchairs rather than small neat and compact, now the house is clean and tidy, i best get showered and dressed or i will scare them away Grin Blush

The Kobi seats are identical and my tall 2 and a half year old (in age 3-4 clothing) only had a couple of cms head height left under the hood. However you can remove the hood (although the raincover doesn't then fit properly). The seats themselves are plenty big enough and my DD with size 9 shoes could rest her feet easily on the footrest ledge.
