This is as imaginative as I get!Wink
Frigg, my Mum works for the City Council doing disability adaptations to resident's houses. She goes to assessments with an OT, decides on adaptations needed, designs them, draws up plans, applies for planning permission and oversees the work. She's been in the same job since she was 18 so she's learnt a lot about all sorts of dsabilities along the way.

i like the new titleGrin

wow! when i was diagnosed,i had to point the dr in the direction of the HMS website to look up my symptoms,he had NO idea what it was,but eventually conceded it probably was,and referred me.
gave me pain killers and sent me on my way.
now you can have your house redesigned!Shock

Marfans is part of the same 'family' monkey,he was listening to her heart because people with Marfans have a faster heart rate than normal,my Dniece's is the same at resting as what most peoples are when they are running full pelt.you can imagine the impact that has over time.

so im still LOVING my Kobi,im just waiting on getting the harness,im kinda on hold as the guy i bought it from says he's speaking to the retailer in amsterdam, because he thinks it should have been included when he bought it.

im glad that boots were good for you monkey they did EXACTLY the same thing for me with my faulty B-Dual Smile

Read the aprica reviews first. One said not much seat height. Are they made of steel?

I couldn't find those Aprica's only a modern looking green one that can't be shipped over here and it looks like a Mila.

Happy Birthday Frigg the first (I think your DD is the eldest?) I got sooooo close to buying a Joovy Ergo last night, I tracked down seat covers, raincover etc. but then I saw the fold size is huge...and have popped back to read what Prams put last night. I totally can't work out what to do, which to get, amd even why! I also chose a new name last night but I don't like it...hmm..back to the drawing board..

I still like the Apricas. My daughter a shortarse like her mother so height will never be an issue.Wink
Guildford, I can see the difficulty. The Ergo is much nicer looking and I love the customisability of them. But the heaviness, lack of compactness and extra expense would put me off a bit. And that you might not be allowed a +One!Shock

Oh and Frigg, you'd only get adaptations if you have physical difficulties relating to the hypermobility and you're registered disabled. My Mum puts in anything from grab rails up to extensions to house a wetroom and accessible kitchen. They also pay any expenses for moving house if your current property isn't suitable for adaptations. It's all means tested so presumably if you need anything, you wouldn't have to pay. I'd take your daughter asap. It's worth trying to get a diagnosis sooner rather than later.

I know...I think I need to be patient and get the +one safely here first becase that's what I personally will prefer. But equally as DD gets older I can see the usefulness of her being able to jump on and off the back. I am a complete sucker for good looks...which is why the Ergo appeals...it's faffy buying the bits from two shops. It is the size and folded size that is putting me off...I have no idea where to store one especially given it doesn't freestand (the +one does). Hubby for the first time ever seems really keen on a Joovy as long as it's not red (!) and it's rare he encourages me to buy a pushchair. I don't know whether to get one just to review (but I probably lose money by doing that) or whether either is practical to us long term and if so which. TBH I would like both to put side by side....so could I get both? I don't think OH would stop me getting the +one to be fair....argghh!! Help me coz I am in a tizz...where is cheapest? Amazon?

What about this one on eBay USA? Or ask this seller if they still want to sell but cheaper?Wink

I have my eye on the US one but you don't know the postage on it and it's maybe better to have the Amazon back up? I like the fact you know about duties etc up front? Has anyone had to pay any extra on top? How are the duty refunds going? Just told hubby I was thinking of buying two...and he's not twitched partly because he's gone away for two days and feels guilty ;) but I have just sold the Pear and Mutsy seat....so I don't feel guilty either. What colour?? I like the fresh apple....but the purple is nice. Bear in mind at least one will get sold on fairly quickly.

My favourites and red and purple for the Ergo. There are too many options for the Ultralight! I feel like the green might be less desirable than the purple for resale. The dark blue ultralight is quite neutral although I prefer something a bit more fun. Basically, I don't know!

I always go for the red hence hubby saying no. He wanted yellow but I font think it's practical. The green looks fresh...the one on EBay is selling well. I wouldn't get orange...which leaves green, blue and purple. But I have just got to check out, seen the total, gone ouch and come back here...indecision indecision....I need to be sure I can get the Ergo seat pads too...and those are on my PC!

Get one of them in purple and the other in green? Can you get shipping to work here? I don't know if it's just my stupid computer because the UK is one of the options, but it's only showing UPS ground as an option for delivery. It's only $29.99 so it could be cheap depending on shipping and charges.

I know...I hate buying bits from one place and bits from another...and I don't really think I need raincovers...I just need the two pushchairs with the luxury seat pack and ideally the parent console for the Ergo if it's different. The shipping on Amazon is only £22 or was it even $22 but whichever way is mega cheap....

so which are you going for, the ergo is bigger all round compared to the ultralight and remember i have an older ultralight, don't mothercare have them out on display in their stores, because the black one online gives the option of collection from store.
have you seen this

and this
Report
Guildfordnanny · 21/07/2011 14:49

I will probably get them both to review side by side. If I can't decide then there is a need for a good comparison ;) We rarely get to a Mothercare but I haven't seen one in store to date. I just want a good price TBH because I will lose money when I sell them on....but I do need the luxury seat covers for my baby for the Ergo. My worry with the Ergo is it won't support him. But he is tine currently on his Puky and the seats look similar.

Report
aswellasyou · 21/07/2011 14:54

They have one in my local Mothercare but I don't know whether it's a normal one or an Ultralight. It's not an Ergo though.
