Just in case I end up preggers again, I've always wondered... Is the baby seat thingy not a bit low? Does it bother you?

I wonder this every time I see one.

do you mean when it is in baby and toddler mode, if so no its fine, you look down and see baby, never kicked them or banged them very safe and snug, but i do think there are better tandems on the market now, p&t was the best out when i needed one.

It depends on the model. I knock the Dash doubles kit with my knees when I walk but am fine with most of the others. I find it really hard to get down low enough and at the right angle to thread a child into the space and then to strap the child into the doubles kit (think post birth) before they slide off the bottom of the seat! I agree totally with pramsgalore4, there are much better tandems on the market, but P&T's are the ones people think they should have with two children (me included) when you start the hunt and its what Mothercare etc stock when you go to look. To be honest you either love them or hate them, but equally needs change across time and what suited you at first doesn't always suit you by the time your eldest is heading for 3.

Thank you both. So what would you get now, knowing what you do? I love the Jané one but maybe just wishful thinking.

Absolutely and honestly - there is no right answer. It depends on your lifestyle and what you do.
I am fortunate enough to have a handful of doubles here at present and I use them for different things. The B-Dual is a great all rounder - good for going to the shops, then onto the park or the beach etc with good space for the baby. For shopping in a shopping mall or when space is limited because the boot is full then the Baby Jogger City Select wins hands down for its huge accessible basket and flat fold. For being seen and sheer luxury the Mima Kobi is gorgeous - a real style icon that is extremely practical and well thought out. For going to the park then a side by side like the cool and trendy Trends for Kids Twinner Twist Duo or Baby Jogger Elite with its brilliant storage and huge hoods and chunky wheels is great. But the one in my car right now that I use most is the new pre release iCandy Peach Blossom. I simply love it - I loved my first one and I love this new version much much much more. It just works for our family - stylish, good space and seats for the children, big basket that is easy to push several bags of shopping into, easy to push and simply beautiful to look at. The new Mountain Buggy arrives with its first customers next week and that is a side by side with large seats, but yet is narrower than a side by side. Mind boggling...yes..but true! I think between the Duet and the Peach, and later on the new Mountain Buggy +one they will transform the doubles market. 2011 has been one amazing year for double pushchairs :)
