LOL...I guess that means we have moved home now :)

I could probably return the Mutsy, but I will keep it and try it out....hubby likes it...I am just worried about DD's feet being so near the ground given she likes to dangle them - and did so immediately that I sat her in the seat.

I ordered my +One & BJCMS4 earlier and confirmed my Duet order...

I'm loving the Babboe, if it works out over the winter, I'll ditch the Vigour and get a zapp or similar to go under the seat unit Smile

(sorry 'bout those caps!)
i was trying to think of one last night and i couldnt come up wiht anything witty!

so the DC were sat in the contours (face to face) earlier giggling,i think i'll take them out like that! DD's desperate to go out so we'll try it out soon!
im quite excited about getting a coffee to put in my drinks holder!
ive put EVERYTHING we could possibly need in the basket and there is STILL a ton of room to spare! the basket will get a proper workout tomorrow though with our picnic + all the average stuff for a day out + all the toy animals DD insists we are taking to marwell with us!Grin

Report
FriggFRIGG · 18/06/2011 09:14

1001 post on the last thread?!Shock
I'm so unbelievably jealous of your Contours. Have either you tried it in a car boot yet? Do you think it would be less than ridiculously huge if you popped the wheels off it?

Report
Guildfordnanny · 18/06/2011 10:44

It's easy to pop the front wheels off but you can't remove the back ones easily ie once they are on, they are on! Have you seen my car boot photo. The handle is more the problem because it sticks out taller than the rest.

This is probably a better photo but with one seat on I am sure I could have stacked the seats better in the car boot photo underneath the handle instead of on top.

umm i havent tried yet,but im REALLY hoping it'll fit in my mums boot for the zoo, else im kinda stuck as i know the MB wont fit and i loaned the micralite to a friend this weekend

i had it out in town today,it was pretty fab,i didnt have any problems with it the huge basket is amazing, lots of people asked about it and said they thought it was a very clever buggy, and it is! Arlo was a bit bamboozeld at first but he really liked being able to see me and DD!the DC were lovely to each other and both slept in it,in fact DS is still asleep in it now Grin

it didnt come with a rain cover though and it rained a lot today....what do you reckon would fit it guild? maybe a graco tandem ive heard, but im not sure...

Report
Guildfordnanny · 18/06/2011 14:44

You can always take a screwdriver and undo the handle Hmm. The people I bought my Contours off recommend the Graco tandem raincover. My only concern would be whether it fitted in all seat configurations, but the Graco is pretty long. I am glad the Contours worked well for you and the shopping basket was good. I am stuck at the minute because hubby is making any and every excuse to take his Taga on a run, meanwhile I have the Contours and Mutsy sat here awaiting their first outings but I am not very good at going for a purposeless walk ie I need to go and get something or do something! Just out of interest did you have any problems with the length? Does the 'give' in the handles bother you when walking? Do you know where your daughters' feet are when forward facing? anything else? It does look comfy though.

Report
FriggFRIGG · 18/06/2011 15:37

I havent used it with DD at the front yet, though i will be tomorrow however she seems to put her feet on the footrest,so i cant see it being a problem...
the 'give' is fine,in fact,i havent much noticed it.
the length hasnt been a problem so far, although i had expected it to.
it turns a lot slower than other not-as-long strollers, but it does turn easily, just slower than an MB,bugaboo etc...

Well I did it, and bought a BHCM from JL. I don't really have the cash, but it is just such a joy to push with my dodgy pelvis compared to my quinny speedi and maclaren quest. I was so excited I got the shop floor one so I could use it immediately (and drag the quest behind me) Blush
DD loved it too, and many games of peekabo with the big hood ensued with her big sis. DH can't see what is so special about it though. But he doesn't have a dodgy pelvis or push prams a lot Hmm

Contests on your new bjcm purchase. They are fab buggies. What colour did you get?

Report
banjaxed · 18/06/2011 22:53

Just got it in black. I am so impatient...

Report
Guildfordnanny · 19/06/2011 00:24

Our BJCM is the pushchair that gets used every day here as DS loves having his afternoon nap in it. I think its the huge hood that blocks out enough light for him to sleep, plus its so simple to set up one handed with him tucked under my arm. I have just ordered the 4 wheel version.

MonkeysPunk · 19/06/2011 08:38

I see my spell check has been embarrassing me again... congrats! Not "contests"!
Still, its not raining this morning...

How much can one get the 4 wheel version one for please?
I still love the look of the sand one at JL, but I also like the purple.
Does the 4 wheel weigh the same?

Report
Guildfordnanny · 19/06/2011 21:31

Yes the both weight the same 7.6kgs each. I have zero idea of price. I just preordered one from Lullaboo Baby because it's the pushchair I use every day and I really need four wheels when holding my toddlers hand. so price doesn't matter IYKWIM. I think they know my card number off by heart at Lullaboo because I order so much from them lol! Plus they were the top Baby Jogger sellers last year so they are great at sorting any problems out. We spent hours last night in the semi dark sorting pushchairs out! I have so far failed to get the Quinny up though - it's my job in a minute!

MonkeysPunk · 20/06/2011 06:52

The sand, or stone bjcm at JL has gone up in price again. It's £219 now, it had been £175, so I missed that bargain.
Still, I did not need it, and I do have 3 prams to sell still atm. I will then have 2 buggies which is plenty for our needs!
A BJ Summit XC and the more compact Mountain Buggy Swift (which ill try to photo and measure for your website this week! ) . Do you need measurements etc for the BJ Summit too while I have the tape measure and camera to hand?
Sorry for the delay, we had memory issues with our lap top so couldn't upload any pics.

YES! a very good one is the britax vigour 3
if you get the 3+ it doesnt have air tyres and is not as good IMO,you want the older cheaper vigour 3 you can pick it up on ebay for about £50 Smile

oooo thanks Frigg I will go and have a look! any idea if it can have a buggy board too (greedy! lol) - other thing I came across is the urban detour Quantum but I can't find any actual info/video etc about it -so can't tell if it actually has a bucket seat? DS needs to stay in the sittig position but just tipped back (like in our zapp xtra, which would be perfect if had big wheels!)

sorry to hijack this thread...but it seems like you guys are the experts and I would love your opinions...

am trying to figure out the best double buggy. I have semi decided on the MB duet...but the plus one or icandy peach blossom also seem interesting (well not the price)

my info: I will have 20 month age gap, but really two years as I plan on slinging the little one in the beginning. I am in central london and we have a car but husband really uses it. (so only occasionally) I need something to get me out and about and on buses (how with a double I am not sure).. would also like a decent resale value.

what do you think?
