Having a wobble about forward facing

We bought a mountain buggy for DS as it was perfect for everything except that it doesn't do rearfacing.

DS doesn't look like he'll be in his carrycot much longer and now I'm having a wobble about putting him forward facing.

So either I need some sense talked into me, or I need suggestions for a compact rearfacer that I can buy cheaply without DH knowing.

Any help please?

Thanks!

I think unless you're spending huge amounts of time with your child in the buggy, the mountain buggy will be just fine.

Buy a sling!

I had a mountain buggy and it was great for going to the beach etc. However, a friend lent me her moby wrap and it was fab. Very comfy and lasted until my DD was over 1 (when my pal had her second and it needed to be returned).

You'll be able to cuddle your little boy to sleep and even BF in it if you want to. Plus you can always keep it in the bottom of the mountain buggy and bring it out when you want.

DD was in a forward-facing pushchair from birth. There were certainly times when it would have been nice to have her facing me, but I don't think it's a huge problem. How often are you likely to be walking for a long time when your DS is awake? You can still interact with them a lot in a FF pushchair.

Don't worry unless you were out everyday for hours and hours! They get nice downtime just gazing around I think....so much pressure on mums to be always looking at or talking to their baby! They will be fine. Ive had rear facing and not rear facing.... Dd2 straight into Phil n teds, showing no signs of bother! I did miss admiring her at first though! But she loves looking around and jplays with her taggies bumper bar or she's asleep as I usually use buggy longest at nap times at stop for coffee when she's awake then home where dd2 is bombarded with noise and stimulation from me, dd1, cbeebeis for dd1, friends over for coffee, daddy home from work, etc etc,,,,,I think she loves the pram time to chill her beans.

Thanks everyone, I'll stick with what I've got then.

Gybegirl, I'm such an idiot, I never even thought to put my sling in the basket in case I fancy getting him out, I've always gone out with one or the other .

And for now DS is always sparko in the pram, so if that keeps up I'd have no one to talk to anyway.

MB it is!

Thanks everyone!
