Quinny carrycot?

Was just wondering if people thought buying the additional carrycot option was worth it, my midwife said its fine to use the carseat as long as he's not in it for too long. Would deff not scrimp if its something that people said they got a lot of use out of and was necessary, but don't want to spend a lot of money on something that I might never use as I know a lot of people only ever use the carseat. I would never leave him in the carseat for extended periods of time, just wanted to some peoples opinions.

Thank you! :)

I bought the carry cot and loved using it, I think it looks lovely on the frame, but to be honest I didn't use it for very long. I would suggest buying one second hand because they are expensive for how much you use them. The only way you get your moneys-worth is if you use it in the house for the baby to sleep in (instead of a moses basket)

i had a carrycot for ds and used it to he was 6 months on the pram and in the house too. ds2 is now using it again. nice and cosy and ds hates his car seat, much prefers to be stretched out.

Used it instead of a moses basket and also walked everywhere in first three months so it was definitely worth it for us. Depends if you think you'll be using the car more. A friend hardly used hers because she wasn't walking distance from shops/baby group etc and needed to drive everywhere.

We didn't bother with a carrycot for our first two, but by the time no3 arrived I was spending a total of nearly 3h on school runs every day, plus any other walking around, so we felt that a carrycot would be better for the baby. Also, with dcs 1&2 we lived in a flat and they napped in the bedroom, whereas with dc3 we lived in a house so having the carrycot downstairs was very convenient for naps.

Dc3 was a little monster: 11lb at birth and above 91st centile thereafter. He used the carrycot until 6m without any difficulty, by which time he was sitting up and we started using he seat. But he continued using the carrycot from time to time for a couPle of months after. It was a Quinny.
