I've got myself in a pickle! Please could someone help?

So I will have a newborn and a 22mth old. I am looking at double buggies (restricted by boot size) and like the Phil and Teds.

So is it right that the newborn goes "under" in the cocoon and the 22mo on the top.

Does the newborn have to stay underneath and flat until he is 6mnts and able to sit at the front?
Does he lie flat with no view all that time??!
I converted my 1st DS to front facing at 12wks and would like to do the same. Is this not possible?

I am pretty sure that can't be right as it seems so boring. But I can't find the answer anywhere.

Any help much appreciated!

okay so.

newborn underneath (in thee main seat) lays flat whilst older child up top in second seat...

when baby is 6 months (4 months at a real push) baby goes underneath in the second seat, toddler gets larger front seat.(or the buggy will likley tip over with all the weight at the back Shock

i have just bought a britax b-dual and sold my p&t sport,as i wanted a rear facing seat, but it also has more options you'd like ,
eg,either child can go in either seat at any time(they both lay flat)and the buggy will not tip over if the heavier child is in the back seat,so you can put your lo up front if you wish.

Thanks so much!

So baby lies flat for 4-6 months? Boring!

So you can't lie flat in the second seat (so both kids can't sleep at once?)

no second seat hardly reclines at all!
and if you have the 2nd seat on you cant really recline the first seat either,as you would squish the kid in the 2nd seat,
so no one can sleep!Hmm

try,
baby jogger city select or the
baby jogger city mini double

both fold a bit smaller than the britax Grin

i had it,
for a while (buggy obsessive)
it is fantastic,
it fit through every door i tryed,
except my own!
we live in a victorian terrace, and have the tinyest door ever...half an inch slimmer and it would have fitted! Ggrrr

i had the nipper too, also very nice,i just prefered the bjcm a little tiny bit more...

check out boots, they are having a massive sale atm...Grin

Ive had a nipper, fab when newborn and toddler, you can easy get at em when needed then as they both get bigger and maybe toddler walks more ....I got sick of double nip pee....fitted in every door but was still wide in star bucks, toilets, etc etc, slightly restrictive but ok, bjcm double would do same job and looks smarter and seats sit up much better and it's folds is soooooo quick espies com oared to nipper, love bjcm double. I now have explorer for 6mnth and just turned 3yo....is ace, easy push and fold, older one hops in and out back no prob and I can recline 6mnth old in front just enough to short nap.....not she's in there all day anyway! It fits in everywhere a single would, its nippy but soooooo sturdy and perfect for now, id say well worth perseveringly first few months with cocoon for it's benefits once baby hits 4to 6mnth mark, you could put baby in front or behind depending on journey or naps etc, I just make sure toddler gets out back first if she's in, it's a great place for her to hide away if town busy or she's poorly etc, she's just three and a grand walker but that second seat is an ace back up for those tired out, hot bothered, hungry, cross times! She doesn't need a nap but the Mini personal space it provides is great for her! Baby oblivious up front! Looooove my new explorer, can you tell!! Ha ha! Get one!

This is such a helpful thread, I'm going through the same thought process.

Clumsymumluckybaby - Can you tell me if the Britax B-Dual is as easy to manoeuvre as the P&T?
