Pushchairs

Anyone else having problems with their superlite?

Mine is going back tomorrow for a refund Sad. I really love it but the back axle that the wheels are on slides back and forth - so sometimes it's too far over for the break to engage. I discovered this to my horror earlier whilst walking uphil and had to stop to get something out of dd3's shoe - whilst try to park ds20m away from the deadly nightshade berries - and realised I had to hodl the pushchair as I couldn't lock it.

Anyone else? I can't not have a pushchair so am going to have to get a refund and get whatever's in stock - and am gutted..

Am slightly relieved though - the quick release on the handlebars is exactly where I used to hold them - it's reet awkward now Confused

I hope it's just me

I don't know as I've no funds and don't reckon MC will give me the 20% off any new one so whatever they have for £120. I reckon we'll keep the Urban Detour and just get a smaller buggy for nursery run/bus - poss an obaby plus or similar?

Any suggestions?

how old is your dc? i've had to give up with macs as just finding them too hard to push as i have bad shoulder ds is 3 and 13kg so not huge. Find the superlite such a great push and i have nipper on the way.

I took it back - on the rear axle there's a clip to stop it slipping, I'm not sure if there's meant to be two but there was only one so the wheels could slide to one side IYGWIM?

I ended up swapping for an obaby plus which I don't really like but will work for now - am saving towards another BJCM I think as like you say he's too big for a stroller all the time - too big and clunky

Thanks

I had a look at the axle on mine this morning and it's fine. A one off maybe? Shame for you though.

how long have you had it flyme? i hate air tyres with rubbish tyres...

Report
FlyMeToDunoon · 08/09/2010 20:38

Ive had mine maybe two months.
Turns out the flats just needed pumped up. I couldn't do it and thought they were punctures but after taking them al apart and testing DP found nothing and pumped them up and they are fine Blush

I know what you mean about inner tubes though. My P&T got loads of punctures until I bought new inner tubes and then was fine.

Am going to phone kiddicare now as the handles have gone all loose and one clip is not working Sad Hope it's just a simple thing and maybe I have done something wrong.

Blush sorted over the phone.
I needed to tighten the clips by opening them and turning clockwise and then shutting them down again.
Don't now how they loosened in the first place though. Is that just through use?

I have had to do my clips once as described and also take one front wheel off, clip off a jagged piece of plastic that was locking it, lubricate and replace. No punctures yet! I am loving my radical minimalist buggy phase, Superlite for DD2 and the old Micralite chassis with car seat for DD3 when she arrives Grin

I am worried as DD asked to walk all the way to school on Friday. Could our pushchair days be nearly over?

luka would be way out of pushchairs then i reckon. he will be by the spring i'd think.

If we still lived along the road from school then maybe DD would be walking most of the time but the 1.4 mile journey to school several times a day is too much.
Will you have a buggy board depending on how long DC4 takes to appear?

Report
nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2010 13:18

no, no boards again! luka will be at least 4yr and going to school next september so no need really (i hope!)
