B&Q kitchens - any experience?

Bought a kitchen from Magnet years ago and vowed never again as the installation service was so appalling (kitchen was fine). I fear that B&Q, Homebase etc would be the same despite all the big words of how great they are ... anyone have any experience of buying from there they could share please?

Don't do B&Q.

We had a nightmare, stuff not delivered, fitters not turning up. Plumbing all wrong.

Never again.

B&Q were awful.

Kitchen designer measured wrong - so everything 20cm out; not enough worktop because of this.

Too much of some stuff, too little of others.

The B and Q installation service is terrible. They sold us parts that would fit, blamed me for that despite the fact that they had surveyed the room and designed the new layout (it was a bathroom that I was having done). We found them rude and unhelpful. Eventually they offered us substantial compensation, but it didnt make up for a very stressful experience.

Sorry but another negative here. Have had 2 kitchens done by them which were fine but bathroom was a complete and utter nightmare, and continues to be so. Design and Installation Service a nightmare - to their cost from a design point of vie w as they missed out loads of stuff that wasn't even picked up by their surveyor, and we ended up with about another £1500 of stuff that they had to fork out for. However, installation was a nightmare from Day 1, and the bathroom is simply not water tight. Do not touch them with a barge pole if you want them to install.

To be fair, quality of kitchen units seems to be standing up well 2 years in, but bathroom has loads of faults, most of which conveniently appeared just after it went out of warranty....

Have got a beautiful cooke and lewis (by B&Q) kitchen!!

Its just been fitted. couldn't be happier. excellent service from start to finish.

Another negative here. Half the doors were a different shade/colour of the wood. Loads of other problems. I made so many complaints that the manager of the local store used to hide when he saw me come in!

My friend has one has is happy with it tho.

OMG!It looks like we've been really lucky! I seriously am thrilled with mine, the guy that fitted it (despite talking for England) was brilliant, really thorough and quite a perfectionist. He has shown us how to treat the walnut worktops, care for the belfast sink and understand the mechanism of those drawers that go in slowly (no idea what its called!)
the store were brilliant when we ordered.

only slight gripe I had was having to wait 10 weeks from order to fitting.

Perhaps its a postcode lottery thing.
