Can anyone recommend an 'island' cooker hood/extractor? I don't know where to start!

Any help would be recommended smile The price range seems to be astronomical!

You need one the same width as your cooker. One's without lights are much cheaper (weirdly) What make is your cooker? You might want to check out Kitchens Direct.

I'm having an island with a hob in it, 5 ring gas, not sure of the width yet. Do you have any ideas about brands? Elica seem to do £££ ones (too £££ for my budget) but out of the rest I don't know which is any good. I always have this problem with buying electrical good, I'm paralysed by indecision, there's TOO MUCH CHOICE <hyperventilates>

I like this one.

But you can get away without having a cooker hood. We don't have one over the range cooker in our island - just have an extractor in the outside wall (above the cabinets so it can't be seen).
