Just take a look at this delicious house.

It's in South Australia - about 35 mins from Adelaide City Centre and costs approx 1.5 million pounds - so about 1.3 million pounds more that we can afford grin.

And I'm not sure about some of the wallpaper wink

I should add that I live in South Australia, so it's not like I'm being totally unrealistic.

Just need a big lotto win.

Def property porn of the highest order - especially that lovely brick/stone room with all the candles hanging form the ceiling and the bottle of wine waiting.

Mind you, having passed through Adelaide one wet Sunday in August can't say it would be top of my list of fave locations.

Do you think they could stick it on a large truck and move it to Cairns?!grin

womblingfree Mon 03-Aug-09 07:53:18

Feel awful now I've said that about Adelaide - it was just passing through on a grotty day. My Dad's spent time there and thought it was lovely blush

Loved the house and the gardens but the interior is absolutely not my taste. Shame, might have bought it otherwise.

Although, you do have lots of snakes and stuff down there. <shudder>

ClaudiaSchiffer Mon 03-Aug-09 07:55:29

Ha, Adelaide on a wet winters day is indeed dreary and dull grin so no offence taken.

ClaudiaSchiffer Mon 03-Aug-09 07:56:52

Yes, lots of snakes, and spiders. Do you think if I'd get a reduction if I mention them to the agent? Also no pool and I would have to re-do the interior. Hmmmmmmm.

Thank goodness - it was a Sunday as well - we had a few hours to kill between the India Pacific and the Ghan.

Beautiful house though - perhaps they'd take the wallpaper and creepy crawlies with them grin

MmeLindt Mon 03-Aug-09 08:23:31

I am sure that would knock a good 1.3 million off the asking price. The wallpaper is truly distressing.

DaisybabyScaredOfCows Mon 03-Aug-09 08:26:27

Are the sheep included?

clayre Mon 03-Aug-09 08:30:18

it has 6 bedrooms and only 2 bathrooms, you would need to put in more toilets, and i agree about the decor its awful

noddyholder Mon 03-Aug-09 08:34:59

I think its lovely the decor is v traditional but not too stuffy and could be made more contemporary with just a few tweaks.

jonbonjovi Mon 03-Aug-09 08:35:12

No, sorry, reminds me of the house in Psycho.

<sniffs disdainfully at £1.5 m house>

jonbonjovi Mon 03-Aug-09 08:37:45

This is more my thing, albeit a tad more expensive (£7m).

And I loathe pool tables...

BrigitBigKnickers Mon 03-Aug-09 09:27:44

Snap jonbonjovi That's what I thought. Either that or the Haunted House at Disney!

comewhinewithme Mon 03-Aug-09 09:34:01

My 6 year old is now crying cos she wants to move to strailia and live in the big house hmm.

ClaudiaSchiffer Mon 03-Aug-09 09:51:56

Stop being rude about my fantasy house <stamps foot>

Haunted house, hrumph.

Noddy and Wombling can come and stay, the rest of you can find your own luxury $$$$$$ pad wink

FiveGoMadInDorset Mon 03-Aug-09 09:56:42

theincredibleshrinkinglady Mon 03-Aug-09 10:04:29

goldenpeach Mon 03-Aug-09 19:31:26

The furniture is a bit pikey for the grandeur of the building, sorry, couldn't resist!
