shock

They want an extra 77K on top of the 100K cheque the owners have already given him?? He does this every week. It's shock

FluffyBunnyGoneBad Thu 30-Jul-09 20:28:49

They may have well had moved to a bigger house. Surly it would be cheaper then this makeover?

llareggub Thu 30-Jul-09 20:29:21

Bet she's a mumsnetter.

nancy75 Thu 30-Jul-09 20:31:03

you can build a new house ftom scratch for £200k, they must be using the dearest builders in england!

JackieNo Thu 30-Jul-09 20:31:13

Definitely looks like a Boden-wearer grin

Thandeka Thu 30-Jul-09 20:31:39

and all he ever does is put bifold doors in every property!

FluffyBunnyGoneBad Thu 30-Jul-09 20:32:47

Bloody hell, I'd be having kittens at that budget. The presenter just likes knocking things down. They should have been advised to move to somewhere bigger, the scene where he was moaning about the lack of space in the husbands wardrobe was hillarious! They don't need a swanky new bedroom, just have a sort out and take some things to the charity shop.

KirstyJC Thu 30-Jul-09 20:32:51

Wish I could find an extra £77k...actually I would settle for an extra 77p!!

Should be good when it's done though. I think he must own a bifold door company!!

differentID Thu 30-Jul-09 20:33:13

If I had 177,000 I'd move in a heart beat!

nobodysfool Thu 30-Jul-09 20:34:28

Makes me laugh every week.
"they have given me their life savings....i just hope it will be enough to do all the work".
AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH if it isnt, change the bloody plan you silly man!
ok...rant over.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad Thu 30-Jul-09 20:37:18

He goes back to the owners every week for more money, not just little amounts but tens of thousands. He didn't finish the house last week despite asking for an extra huge wad of cash, he ran out of money! He put another staircase in but didn't take the slope of the roof into account to had to change it, costing them time and money. I'd be pissed off at this, the houseowner was.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad Thu 30-Jul-09 20:39:01

"If you were a bed, which one would you be?" hmm

HerHonesty Thu 30-Jul-09 20:39:35

i have to say it would be really nice to have a tv property show which was at least sort of based on reality... i mean ffs am i really poor or do people not have access to a ready 77k...

FluffyBunnyGoneBad Thu 30-Jul-09 20:41:29

Don't forget the 100K they have already given him HerHonesty! shock

MadameCastafiore Thu 30-Jul-09 20:41:53

Oooohhhh Old Wanker George who never fails to give himself a good old pat on the back.

Was mystified last week when due to his being a cock and not realising that he couldn't fit the stairs in their original position he brought the project to a standstill and then they ended up having no en-suite???

Hate his fecking Neru (sp?) collared shirts and his blubbing at the drop of a hat!

But like you I watch every week, laughing that if we contacted him he would be stumped with our house - listings people would eat him for breakfast!

Mind you glad they got rid of that Irish bird who was on last time - that bit was super boring and she delivered her lines whilst always looking slightly to the right of the camera which was really infuriating!

On top of everything's that already been said I think it's bloody wierd to hand over money to strangers to choose your cushions

MummyElk Thu 30-Jul-09 20:44:25

LOL at "ffs am i really poor or do people not have access to a ready 77k.."
just started anew thread on telly addicts too about this (sorry didn't realise you were here)
he's a money grabbing twunt.
p.s. not that this matters at all to my opinion of him but is he gay? his shirts do seem to fit him quite well...
am i being naive here? blush

HerHonesty Thu 30-Jul-09 20:46:48

i know, so i can understand (after i have picked myself up the floor) that someone might remortgage or have inherited or saved for erm 100 years) but do these people not have budgets??

its actually just like grand designs.. yah our budget was 205k but we went over by 200...

i looked at their advert. you have to have a min of 40k but it doesnt say "and another little pot somewhere else"... i should report them to the adverstising standards association or something...
he is a tosser isnt he. i reckon the people doing all the graft get well annoyed with him turning up with his white spray can and putting holes in walls...

FluffyBunnyGoneBad Thu 30-Jul-09 20:46:56

They couldn't afford to buy the en-suite, the cock up cost them time and they had to pay the builders, must have been a pay per day job, crap project management if you ask me. They should have done plans before so they should have known it wasn't going to fit. Arseholes! (not you lot)

I wouldn't let that sledgerhammer happy bloke near my bank balance!

beanstalk Thu 30-Jul-09 20:47:31

They had already bought the kitchen, how can that extension and 2 bathrooms cost 177k? Totally ridiculous.

HerHonesty Thu 30-Jul-09 20:48:44

sorry just read my post should have written "ffs am i really poor or do most people really have access to a ready 77k.."or
something similar. you get my drift..

MummyElk Thu 30-Jul-09 20:49:27

the other thing i thought was, as she cleared out the crap and headed to the charity shop, whether she might have been better off doing a massive declutter and saved herself --£100k-- £200k

FluffyBunnyGoneBad Thu 30-Jul-09 20:51:06

I'd be asking for reciepts myself.

HerHonesty Thu 30-Jul-09 20:51:08

also last weeks house wasnt even that nice a house. i would have sold up and moved. cant polish a turd.
