Get the agents to chase it up. They could exchange anytime before the office closes today.

We didn't get a phone call to say we had exchanged until 6.15pm.

P.s. Not all lawyers are bad, my dh is one but thankfully not in conveyancing. When he did, the work load was unbelievable.

They did! They did!

At lunchtime they tried the extraordinary stalling tactic of 'we need to check that the agent has got keys' .

Which gave me an opening (shortly after the OP) of phoning the agent to say 'for pete's sake can you contact them to sort everything out and hurry them'.

Shortly before 4 - the magic call. Better 3 days late than never! Which is super - because if it hadn't happened today, then completion would have got kicked into the long grass due to holidays.

Took the kids to see the place for the first time tonight . Didn't want them getting attached before exchange. Plan to spend next week sorting out new window boxes full of pink flowers with Dd .
