Help, we've been credit crunched, need some advice about cheap flooring...

We were just about to get further up to the eyes in mortgage debt to extend our midget kitchen but have reassessed and decided it would be a silly financial risk when we don't know how the business will be affected, sooo...

We're going to try and redo our kitchen with money we actually have, £1000! We've found cheap units and have a wood reclamation yard near us but the sticking point is the floor. We need something easy to lay as we'll be doing it, cheap and attractive. Any ideas?

a friend got an offcut of vinyl for her midget kitchen

ours cost hundreds because it was the proper price; hers, (just the same) as an offcut, was about £20 angry

do you have small independent shops with offcuts for sale?
