Is my shower possessed?

Any ideas what on earth is going on with my shower? It is a power shower so it has a noisy motor which makes a racket as long as you are actually using the shower.

For the last 2 days it has suddenly been making the noise as if the shower is on and the pump is working - just for 5 second bursts. It has done it about 10 times over 2 days. Gives me a hell of a shock each time!

What is going on - any thoughts please?

OK - I asked DH so bear with me on this one....

The following is a common fault but not knowing what type of power shower you have means the following isn't a definte answer...

The pump on a power showers switches on when it detects water flow. If you have a small leak somewhere in the system then the pump will think that there is water flow and will turn on. This will then build pressure in the system because the water has nowhere to go because the shower isn't actually onand when the pump detects the pressure it will turn off again becuase it has a built in over-pressure sensor.

If you notice a small amount of water coming out of the showerhead when this happens or when it is off then it could just be the washer on the water valve seat that needs replacing which is usually an easy thing to do.

I personally think it IS possessed and you should call in the excorcist and move in with someone else until he has sorted it.

Has it been spouting vomit and spinning in circles?

Does the water spell HELP as it hits the ground?

I feel that some of you ladies were not taking this problem seriously

I looked through the yellow Pages and found an exorcist working for British Gas who came and said that BBM's dh is a shower hero - the whole problem is that the stupid shower has been dripping so that is why it is coming on. My dh had already suggested this last night and I went to bed in a huff with him for being so stupid, as if a small drip could be responsible, duh.

Thanks ladies - the spookiness is over now.
