Just wondering how things are? (I have been around, but name-changed btw smile) I recall you were close to purchasing, but didn't want to tempt fate by talking about it on here?
You know that half-built house near me? It is now going for auction - guide price 120K - I am sure it was on for over 200K before...
If the market here hasn't crashed yet, it is certainly in the doldrums...
Hope things are working out for you smile

Hello!Well we are on our 4th purchase! All previous ones fell through after survey We had that one with the flat in the basement near the park I'm sure you saw it for 299 looked a bargain but was a disaster. We have now bought a lovely 3 bed in S Pk Rd near you bargain and full of period features.Didn't know that those bigger terraces existed on that side of D rd but they do.So we exchange friday and complete monday so we'll be neighbours.I considered that half built house but dp hated the road at the back.

Blimey, you've been busy! I did wonder about the one opp the park - I was surprised it was still on the market given the price, even with the amount of work it would need. Disater area you say?!
I am often going down S P R, and yes, some of the houses nr the 5ways end are very similar to those on the other side of D Rd, but more reasonable smile. Handy location.
Really hope it works out for you, and keeping things crossed!

As for the half built house I wouldn't live there either, although I do like my road smile

Not your road lister we looked there! The alleyway at the side was a bit iffy and the house backed onto some flats i think. The house opp the park had the roof rafters pinned to the house next door to stabilise it with no party wall agreement hence a nightmare and uninsurable.I still wanted it but dp went mad.We decided on SPK R as it was slightly bigger than dover etc and had all the period stuff still there plus the price.Previously owned by a buy to let landlord so he took a good discount off and we have got to exchange in a week from viewing it!

Noddy - I wasn't taking offence smile.
I wouldn't want my houe to run alongside an alleyway either.
The park house sounds extremely dodgy - maybe unmortgagable you think? Shame as the location would be perfect.
Your house sounds ideal. From my recollection they have 3 rooms plus kitchen downstairs? Does that mean your DP can have a designated drum area? Is the garden ok - they are a bit hilly, no?
Seriously though, it sounds like a good situation for you - no chain at all, and if it was a btl, I assume you were able to negotiate on price smile
Here's to being settled grin

Yes 3 rooms downstairs plus kitchen Will knock the back into one I think.Three big bedrooms too no boxroom although the bathroom is small. The drums will be in the loft. The garden is a patio really which we will probably deck if we have any money keft after the builders have cleaned us out. Can't wait to be settled and satisfy my xmas tree fetish!

Mabs, I have formed that impression yes smile

I reckon that after years of looking at houses Noddy will need help curbing the rightmove addiction pretty soon. Is there a helpline?
