Our kitchen is open plan with the lounge which is painted in linnet white (Dulux heritage..). So I thought I would paint the kitchen walls same colour, and to give it a bit of accent put 4 inch tile splashback in Red all around the worktop. I have beech wooden worktop but now in dilemma as what colour to paint the kitchen cabinets in...
HELP!! any suggestions? I was thinking cream...or blue grey...white...but I want it to look quite cheerful and fun as well as calm..if you know what I mean.

I would go for a colour as close to your walls as possible - because then even if you change wall colour you'll still have nice neutral cabinets.

I'd keep all the immoveable objects in calm colours then add the cheerful and fun stuff in things that can be swapped and changed easily like blinds, clocks, notice boards, storage and utensils etc.

wood or MDF..not sure but they are painted in horrid neon green colour at the moment and it's doing my head in for past two years. It's time to repaint...

sofa at the moment in wine colour and I have roman blind on the window in the lounge which has pattern of wine red flour and light green leaves, on natural linen background. And lounge floor is dark oak wood and kitchen floor is laminate wood light beech colour ( but I would like to change the floor as well as it's disgusting looking peeled everywhere).

I'd go for a pale green, like a duck egg green.
