AIBU to think that if you want to sell your house you should, um, let people see it?

Have just tried to arrange a viewing only to be told that the only viewings are in the evenings or at weekends. As I have a 3yo and a 7mo, evenings are out which just leaves Saturdays. Not an easy day for us atm, for various reasons.

I would just think that in the current climate, why not let the agent have a set of keys so you could get all possible viewings?

Ah well, will have to go another time...!

sure there must be a good reason for it... but they must be a little barking seeing as it is taking our neighbours 9 months to sell a really great house!

Just a safety precaution I would imagine. I wouldn't let viewers in if I was on my own during the day.

I CERTAINLY wouldn't give the estate agent a key. We have been round houses where the estate agent has let us wander through on our own while they stand outside or in the car. So if they are working it's the only time suitable.

I can understand that but it's not going to sell their house!! I suppose they think if someone is really interested they will come on their terms.

I'm trying to sell mine just now. The viewing times don't seem that unreasonable tbh, the majority of people can usually do it on a weekend if the evening isn't good, it's just because it doesn't suit you. I'd imagine the vendor feels put out as it is having all their weekends and evenings tied up with viewings. Can you not ask the estate agent to explain the situation though and perhaps they could do a one-off for you.
